Proposed Order reRardinR underRround utilities <br />Mr. John Stanley, PG&E representativet explained that the application of Rule <br />No. 20 is adequate and recommended that the City Council oppose any other action <br />that would result in a 50% rate increase for underground utilities. <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that <br />Resolution No. 69-199, authorizing the City staff to write to PUC and advise them <br />that the application of Rule No. 20 is adequate and the City of pleasanton opposes <br />any action that would cause a rate increase, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Informational Report Re: P.U .C. Blockages <br />Mr. Hirst stated that this report, dated August 14, 1969, was for the informa- <br />tion of the Council. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />From Pleasanton GarbaRe Service Re: ReQuest for rate increase <br />The staff was instructed to study and prepare a report for City Council review. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman Beratlis requested that the Chief of Police be present at the <br />Council meeting of August 25th, in order to discuss downtown parking problems. <br /> <br />Councilman Reid requested that an Executive Session be held before adjournment. <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton requested permission to be absent from the City for a month in <br />order to visit Europe. <br />It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Reid that <br />Mayor Gerton be granted permission to be absent from four City Council meetings <br />in order to vacation in Europe. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Regs, Reid and Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton recessed the meeting at 11:35 P.M. to an Executive Session. <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 11:50 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business at 11:52 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Rega <br />and seconded by Councilmon Reid that the meeting be adjourned to meet ogoin in <br />Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on August 25, 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />4. <br />
