<br /> Mayor Bernard Getton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at
<br />8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
<br />
<br />ROLL CALL
<br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows:
<br />Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton were present.
<br />Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of
<br />Public Works, and Mr. Castro, Director of Planning, were present. Mr. Edgar,
<br />Assistant City Manager, was absent.

<br /> Mr. Fales requested that Item 4c, regarding the retention payment to James
<br />Engineering Company, and Item 4d, regarding the acceptance of the Public Improve-
<br />ments in Tract No. 2831, be removed from the Consent Calendar.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Fales also requested that the approval of a sub-lease between Donald
<br />Carroll and Victor Lund, Jr., sub-lessors, and B. J. and Jane Everhart, sub-les~ ....
<br />ees, for the property and improvements at 4895 First Street, Pleasanton, commonly
<br />known as the Corral Drive-In, said property being owned by the City of Pleasanton,
<br />be added to the Consent Calendar.
<br /> Councilman Beratlis requested that this lease not be added to the Consent
<br />Calendar and be discussed as a separate matter.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Fales asked that Mr. George Wells, California State Automobile Association,
<br />be allowed to make his presentation of a safety award to the Council, immediately
<br />after the adoption of the Consent Calendar.
<br />
<br /> Councilman Reid requested that Item 4e, regarding approval of the Final Sub-
<br />division Map and Improvement Plans for Tract No. 2837 be removed from the Consent
<br />Calendar because of this item not being a non-controversial matter.
<br />
<br /> Councilman Rega requested that the City Council Minutes of July 28th, page 3,
<br />explaining his reason for not voting affirmatively for the introduction of Ordi-
<br />nance No. 565 relating to "Garden Court Homes", be corrected to include "to $9,000"
<br />immediately after "$6~000".
<br />
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that the
<br />following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved:
<br />
<br />1. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-184, authorizing Progress Payment No. 10, in the
<br /> amount of $34,163.82, to Western Empire Construction Company, for work com-
<br /> pleted on the Pleasanton Main Fire Station.
<br />
<br />2. Approval of the City Council Minutes of July 7th, 14th, and 22nd, 1969, and of
<br /> July 28th, 1969, as corrected by Councilman Rega in the foregoing agenda
<br /> amendments.
<br />
<br />3. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-186, approving the Final Subdivision Map and
<br /> Improvement Plans for Tract No. 3123, Oakhill-Falendar Homes.
<br />
<br />The roll call vote was as fo.!low~:

<br />SPECIAL R~PQRT~
<br /> Mr. George Wells and Mr. Karl Wente. representatives of the California State
<br />Automobile Association, presented the Pedestrian Safety Award for 1968 to Mayor
<br />Gerton for the City of Pleasanton. Mr. Wente paid special tribute to the Pleasan-
<br />ton Police Department for their efforts in this field.
