T~INUTES <br /> of <br /> THE ~.~EETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> June 22, 1970 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER-PLEDGE TO FLAG <br />~ayor Rob'~rt 'Reid c'all'ed th~ Regular ~'~eetin.~ of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 P.M. and then the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />City Clerk Helen r~cCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Pearson and Mayor Reid, were present. <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos was absent. ~r. Fales, City Manager, Mr. <br />Edgar, Assistant City Manager~ Mr. Hirst, Cit~ Attorney, ~r. Sooby, <br />Associate Civil Engineer, and ~r. Castro, Director of Planning, were <br />present. Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, was absent. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />There were no amendments to the Agenda. <br /> <br />CONSE~I~T CALENDAR <br />It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Pearson <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved. <br /> <br /> a. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-138, approvln~ a time extension <br /> to November 15, 1970, for the completion of Tract No. 3083, <br /> Valley Trails, Unit No. 3. <br /> <br /> b~ Adoption of Resolution No. 70-139, approving the Final Map <br /> and Improvement Plans for Tract No. 3096~ Vintage Hills, <br /> Unit No. 6. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Berablis~ Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Splliotopoulos <br /> <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos Joined the meeting at 8:05 P.M. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARIWGS <br />Appeal of Wallace H. and Mary E. ~ayer from an adverse decision of the <br />Planning Commission denyinF an apolication to rezone from the R-=I-~00 <br />(Residential Sih~.le-Fa~ii'y) Distr~ct to the Office District that <br />property described as Parcel 4, Block 127 Assessor's Book 94~ said <br />Oroperty located at 1072 bivis"{0H Street.~ <br /> <br />Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br />P%r. John Corley, representing Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Mayer, reported that <br />his clients are now conducting their accounting business in their home <br />on Black Avenue and because ~r. Mayer intends to expand his business, <br />and could not find a suitable office on Main Street, purchased the <br />subject property on Division Street. <br /> <br />Mr. Corley further stated that the Plannin~ Commissions' reasons for <br />denying this application, were not realistic. <br /> <br />Mr. Corley emphasized the fact that if there were no offices available <br />on Main Street, then Division Street was an excellent alternative. <br /> <br /> <br />
