ROLL CALL City Clerk Helen r~cCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Pearson and Mayor Reid, were present. Councilman Spiliotopoulos was absent. ~r. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager~ Mr. Hirst, Cit~ Attorney, ~r. Sooby, Associate Civil Engineer, and ~r. Castro, Director of Planning, were present. Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, was absent. AGENDA AMENDMENTS There were no amendments to the Agenda. CONSE~I~T CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved. a. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-138, approvln~ a time extension to November 15, 1970, for the completion of Tract No. 3083, Valley Trails, Unit No. 3. b~ Adoption of Resolution No. 70-139, approving the Final Map and Improvement Plans for Tract No. 3096~ Vintage Hills, Unit No. 6. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Berablis~ Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Splliotopoulos Councilman Spiliotopoulos Joined the meeting at 8:05 P.M. PUBLIC HEARIWGS Appeal of Wallace H. and Mary E. ~ayer from an adverse decision of the Planning Commission denyinF an apolication to rezone from the R-=I-~00 (Residential Sih~.le-Fa~ii'y) Distr~ct to the Office District that property described as Parcel 4, Block 127 Assessor's Book 94~ said Oroperty located at 1072 bivis"{0H Street.~ Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open. P%r. John Corley, representing Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Mayer, reported that his clients are now conducting their accounting business in their home on Black Avenue and because ~r. Mayer intends to expand his business, and could not find a suitable office on Main Street, purchased the subject property on Division Street. Mr. Corley further stated that the Plannin~ Commissions' reasons for denying this application, were not realistic. Mr. Corley emphasized the fact that if there were no offices available on Main Street, then Division Street was an excellent alternative.
