T.be r.911 call vote.i~__as f011o~: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br />Report Re: Lease of Space for centralized administrative service operations <br /> Mr. Edgar reviewed his report to the City Manager, dated May 21, 1970, regarding <br />the lease of a house at 344 Division Street to be utilized for a centralized admini- <br />strative duplicating center service operations. <br /> Councilman Beratlis raised several questions in the lease regarding insurance, <br />maintenance and the cost of the installation of an air couditioner. <br /> Mayor Reid disapproved the arrangement on the rent payments and also suggested <br />that the property be re-assessed for taxes. <br /> Mayor Reid asked that this proposed lease be corrected as indicated and the <br />matter placed on the agenda for next week's meeting. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Fales stated that he had forwarded to the City Council a copy of Mr. Thad <br />Binkley's report regarding the Del Valle Water Rights in order that the Councilmen <br />can study this report prior to their meeting with the Water District Board of <br />Directors on June 4, 1970. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding Zone No. 7, Project No. 2. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports from the City Attorney. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />From Executive Board of Ballistic United Soccer Club Re: City Council ~uppgrt of <br />Soccer Program, <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from the Executive Board of the Ballistic United Soccer <br />Club, dated May 18, I970, in which was expressed appreciation for past support of <br />the Soccer Program in Pleasanton and a request for continued support. <br /> Mr. Fales was instructed to refer this letter to the Recreation and Parks for <br />their consideration. <br /> <br />From Mr. John Stanley, PG&E~.Re: Ord. No. 594 (Business License Ordinance} <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. John Stanley, Pacific Gas & Electric Company <br />representative, dated May 14, 1970, in which he requested an amendment to Ordinance <br />No. 594, Business License Ordinance, regarding utilities operating under a franchise <br />with the City being exempt from obtaining a business license. <br /> Mr. Fales stated he would refer this letter to both the City Attorney and <br />Finance Department for reports. <br /> <br />From Herber. t L- Ha~emaqp, Pres:...of the Amador-Livermore Valley Historical Society <br />Re: Historical Buildings <br /> Mr. Fales read the above letter, dated May 11, 1970, regarding the two adobe <br />buildings being in danger of being demolished, and stated that he would refer this <br />communication to the Recreation and Parks Commission. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid read a telegram from Mr. & Mrs. T. Hour, protesting Ordinance No. <br />580 on the basis that it infringes on their rights as homeowners. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> There were no matters initiated by Council members. <br /> <br />MEETING. OPEN TO. ~HE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: EMPLOYEE SALARY AND FRINGE BENEFIT NEGOTIATIONS <br /> Mayor Reid recessed the meeting at 10:00 P.M., to an Executive Session. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 11:00 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 11:00 P.M., it was moved by Councilman <br />Getton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet <br />again in Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on June 1, 1970. <br /> <br /> <br />
