REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> _Report Re: ~oma Alta _Park <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed the situation existing at Loma Alta Park, as submitted by the <br /> Senior Engineering Technician, dated May 11, 1970. Mr. Fales stated that the <br /> City has not accepted the park and will not do so until these conditions have <br /> been correc ted. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that <br /> the City Manager send a letter to the developer requesting that this park be <br /> completed as soon as possible in order that the City can assume responsibility <br /> and make payment on <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilman Beratlfs, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid. <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Repor~ Re: Histo~T of Plennin~ and Zoning Actions re~ard!n~ the area in the <br /> vacinity of the Southeast _corner Of Berne.,1 .Avenue a,.nd Foothi1.1. Road. <br /> <br />Mr. Castro displayed maps and explained the precise site plan of this proposed <br />development. Hr. Castro also explained that the annexation proceedings invol- <br />ving this property were completed in April, 1963 with the zoning approved at <br />that time. Mr. Castro stated that the Planning Canmission reviewed ~his matter <br />in December, 1969. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid asked Mr. Hirst to determine Just what control the City can exercise <br />in the development within Annexation No. 21 where there is established zoning. <br /> <br />Mr. Hirst stated that he doubted if the subject multiple zoning could be changed <br />but he would investigate the possibility of a change for the other poropertieso <br /> <br /> Presentation of the 1969-1970 through 1974-1975 Capital Improvement Program <br />Mr. Fales presented the 1969-1970 through 1974-1975 Capital Improvement Program. <br />He stated that this program would be discussed at a later time. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br />Mr. Fales s~ated that a copy of a letter from Mro Robert Ryan regarding the <br />Greyhound Bus service from Pleasanton to San Francisco during the week-ends, <br />had been forwarded to the Council for their information. <br /> <br />Mr. Fales also stated that a copy of a letter from Mro Stuart McCaormick <br />regarding a study of the Ntles Canyon Area to be considered as a park and <br />recreation facility, had been forwarded to the Council. Mr. Fales was asked <br />to re£er this letter to the Pleasanton Recreation and Parks ConInission. <br /> <br />REPORTS C~ THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />This report was not discussed. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />There were no cormmanication8 presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIA~ED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilmen Beratlis suggested that a commendation to Mr. Gene Rega be made for <br />his services on the City Council. He also suggested that Planning Commissioners <br />Antonini and Gibbs be formally con~nended for their services. Mr. Fales replied <br />that these matters will be artended to. <br /> <br />Councilman Beratlis also commended the City Staff for their effort in providing <br />an employee to issue citations for over-parking of cars on Main Street. He <br />stated that there was a remarkable improvement in the parking problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Steffenauer asked permission to discuss this matter at this time. <br />Having been granted permission, he stated that he didn't think it was right to <br />give citations for over-parking at 10:00 A.M. when there were no other cars <br />parked on Main Street. He stated that he had a dozen over-parking citations <br />from repairman and customers at his place of business. <br /> <br /> <br />
