Castro displayed maps of the subject property and identified the properties <br />of I~illiam Struthers, the E1 Rancho Hotel and Morrison Homes. <br /> <br />Mr. Castro reviewed his report, dated April 16, 1970, in ~hich he stated that the <br />Planning Conmission, at their meetir~ of March 11, 1970, took action denying the <br />request of Horrison Homes for the rezonin8 of this property from the Single-Family <br />Residence to the Haltiple zoning. <br /> <br />Y.r, Dudley Frost, representing Morrison Homes, displayed maps and stated that it <br />would be better planning from a land use standpoint and felt that this ~as in <br />conformsacs with the General Plan as far as density averages. ~Ir. Frost also <br />stated that the 2.7 acres ~ould be eliminated and trees provided to establish a <br />buffer between the multiples and the motel. Er. Frost concluded by stating <br />that he felt that multiples built on this property would be a very comparable <br />land use. <br /> <br />r~r. Devil Bigger, 301 Junipero Street, t;as opposed to any alteration of the <br />General Plan ~hich he felt this requested zoning would necessitate. <br /> <br />~r. Jack Alterman, Pleasanton Valley, stated that he thought this property should <br />remain as single family residence and could not see ~y the existing zoning <br />comparable to the adjacent land uses. <br /> <br />Mr. John Gerber, Greenwood Road, stated that he was against any multiple zoning <br />in this area because of the increased traffic it would cause on Santa Rite ~osd, <br /> <br />Several other members of the audience also cited the traffic situation in the <br />area. <br /> <br />There being no further coineats from the members of the audience, it was moved <br />hy Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beretlie that the public <br />hearing be closed, <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Carton, Pearson, Spiliotppoulos and Hayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Council_man Spiliotopoulos asked Hr, Castro how many units the BN-1500 ~ould yield, <br />}it, Castro replied that there would be about 84 multiple units as opposed to <br />11 single family homes, <br /> <br /> <br />
