Mr. Aiello read a report from the Director of Planning, which stated that the Planning Commission, at their regular meeting of April 8, 1970, adopted Resolution No. 999, approving the application of Raymond D. Young which requested a change from the Industrial Park District to the Commercial Service District, in light of the conditions stated for the approval of the minor subdivision. Mr. Aiello also stated that the applicant's request is to support a completely enclosed veterinarian's office, which is compatible with uses projected for the C-S District. Mr. Charles Seymour, 492 San Gabriel Court, reported that there is a definite traffic hazard for traffic on Sonoma Drive turning south on Sunol Boulevard. Mr. Seymour suggested that perhaps a portion of the bank in front of the cemetery could be cut back, or else a no left hand turn sign posted. He asked that the staff con~ sider this matter. Mr. Seymour stated that he was not against the rezoning but was against the traffic hazards that would result from the developing of this area un- less remedial measures were taken. There being no further remarks from the public regarding this proposed rezoning, it was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the Public Hearing be closed. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None Mr. Campbell, in answer to Councilman Beratlis' question, stated that this traffic situation was considered and recommended that this minor subdivision appli- cation be denied unless the owner is willing to grant the City all access rights from Sunol Boulevard for both parcels created by this subdivision, and to provide adequate access from Sonoma Drive to Parcel No. 2. Councilman Beratlis suggested that this rezoning be continued for 2 or 3 weeks in order to await the Industrial Committee's report. Mr. Fales stated that this report should be available within 3 weeks. Mr. Raymond Young stated that if this is not continued longer than 3 weeks, it will not create an undue hardship upon him. It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the application of Raymond Young be continued for decision at the meeting of May 25, 1970, in order to allow the staff to study the traffic situation at Sonoma Drive and Sunol Boulevard and also to await the report from the Industrial Develop- ment Committee. Mr. Aiello reported that the Planning Commission, at its regular meeting of April 8, 1970, adopted Resolution No. 1001, recommending to the City Council that the application of Dr. R. P. Juhl, requesting rezoning of an additional 19 feet from the Agricultural District to the Office District, be approved. Mr. Aiello stated that this request was due to the precise definition of the medical suite site and the applicant's procedure of selling individual sites to various doctors, as well as building their facilities. There being no public protest, it was moved by Councilman Getton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing be closed.
