159 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> I~E CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> April 27, 1970 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - ~DGE TO FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Pro Tam Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid were present. <br /> Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City <br /> Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public ~lorks, and Mr. Castro, Director of <br /> Planning, were present. <br /> <br />~ AGENIL AMENDMENTS <br />L~ 'Mayor Reid asked the following representatives from various Pleasanton schools <br />00 to come forward: <br /> 'D Gall I~ilcox Amador High School <br /> ~.~ Bruce Cavestri Pleasanton Elementary <br /> Bre~a Jones Valley View <br /> Clark Fuller Alisal <br /> Cathy Pasut Harvest Park <br /> Chris Echavia and Jori Alexander Lydikson <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid commended these students and their schools for their participation <br /> in Earth Day, April 22, 1970, and the demonstration of what can be done by the <br /> .... youngsters of the conmunity. <br /> Councilman Getton expressed his congratulations to these students and further <br /> stated this is where education and control of pollution should begin. <br /> Councilman Beratlis thanked the students for a great job well done. <br /> Councilman Pearson added his congratulations to these young people. <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos also commended the students on a good job and urged <br /> ~hem to keep it up. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid presented ex-Mayor Gertonwith the gavel and block, and thanked <br /> him for his dedication and service to the City. Councilman Gerton accepted the <br /> gavel and block with thanks. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Waiving the reading of Ordinance No. 595, amending Section 28.109, of Ordinance <br /> No. 520, adding sub-section (a) - Conditions. <br /> <br /> b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 595. <br /> <br /> c. Waiving the reading of Ordinance No. 596, mending Ordinance No. 520, rezoning <br /> from the A (Agriculture) District to the C-N (Neighborhood Commercial) District: <br /> that property described as a neighborhood commercial center within Tract No. <br /> 2905. <br /> <br /> d. A~option of Ordinance No. 596. <br /> <br /> e. A~option of Resolution No. 70-87, accepting the Grant Deed for street widening <br /> at 992 Santa Rita Road. <br /> <br /> f. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-88, releasing cash bond to Petroleum Engineering. <br /> <br /> g. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-89, approving the Freeway Maintenance Agreement <br /> for the South Approach to Tassajara Road Overcrossing of Freeway Route 580. <br /> <br /> h. Accepting the informational report of the Planning Commission Re: A~proval of <br /> Tentative Tract Map No. 3112, Valley Trails, Unit No. 4. <br /> <br /> <br />
