MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL Pleasanton, California March 23, 1970 CA~,L TO ,ORDER - ~LEDGE TO FLAG Mayor Bernard Getton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos, and Mayor Getton were present. Council- man Rega was absent. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Castro, Director of Planning, were present. AGENDAAMENDMENTS There were no amendments to the agenda. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: a. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-53, accepting an Easement from John A. and Nancy D. Helton, and from George E. Mein, Incorporated, for driveway purposes over a 20 foot strip of land at 5567 and 5581Sonoma Drive. b. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-54, authorizing payment in the amount of $290.00 to Amador Valley Maintenance Company for work performed on the City owned property at 121 Main Street. Not~20, to require that public hearinMs be held by both PlanBin_~ Commission and City Council in consideration of tentative planned unit development p~an_~_s Mr. Fales explained the procedure as proposed by the Planning Commission and the City Attorney. Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing open. Both Mr. Castro and Mr. Hirst recommended that Section 13.112 and Section 13.113 of the Zoning Ordinance be amended to require public hearings by both the Planning Commission and the City Council in their consideration of P.U.D. tentative develop- ment plans. There being no public protests, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the public hearing be closed. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton NOES: None - ABSENT: Councilman Rega After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that Ordinance No. 593, amending Sections 13.112 and 13.113 of Ordinance No. 520, to require public hearings by both the Planning Com- mission and the City Council in their consideration of Planned Unit Development tentative development plans, be introduced.
