4 7 9 <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beretlie, Rags, Reid, and Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED:Mayor Getton <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton asked that the Councilmen consider adopting a policy of conditions. <br />to be attached to planned unit development, which would include the builder sub- <br />mitting a list of prices for his units which could not be exceeded within a <br />specific length of time; to construct some low-cost housing within every develop- <br />ment, the amount to be determined by the Council; and the builder to make available <br />any government financing that can be used on low-cost housing. Mayor Getton read <br />an excerpt from an article on Subsidized Home-ownership for Low-Income Families <br />through Federally Subsidized Mortgage Interest, which appeared in the Oakland <br />Tribune newspaper recently. <br /> Mayor Getton requested that this be placed on next week's agenda. <br /> Councilman Reid suggested that this article be sent to the Housing Authority <br />for their comments. <br /> <br /> In reference to the proposed Southern Bay Bridge Crossing, Mayor Gerton <br />initiated discussion on what stand the City should take. Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br />stated that he felt that he didnt have enough information regarding this issue. <br />Councilman Reid concurred and requested that it be discussed at the City Council <br />meeting on February 2, 1970. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr~ James E. Henry, 4954 Drywood Street, and Mr. John Sesto, Jr., 4980 Drywood <br />Street, presented the problem of rain water standing under their respective homes. <br />Mr. Henry asked if the City Building Codes protected the homeowner in this m~tter. <br />Both Messrs. Henry and Sesto stated that there were no drain tiles installed when <br />the homes were built. Mayor Getton instructed Mr. Campbell to investigate this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert E. Lee, 4938 Drywood, complimented the City Council regarding the <br />stop order placed on the developer not complying with the plans approved by the <br />City and also on the City's interest in low-cost housing. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lee asked for clarification on the Council's action approving the rezoning <br />to multiple on the Mobile Estates property, as he was under the impression that no <br />rezoning would be approved until after the Citizens-Council meeting on February !6th <br />was held. <br /> Mayor Gerton explained the property was agricultural land and had no other <br />zoning and was designated as multiple zoning on the General Plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lee, who also complained of water standing under his home, requested that <br />the City consider amending the Building Code to provide for galvanized ducting in <br />the construction of homes. <br /> Mr. Campbell was instructed to consider this request and report on it. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: APPOINTMENTS <br /> Mayor Getton recessed the meeting at 9:50 P.M., to an Executive Session. <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton reconvened the meeting at 10:12 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 10:15 P.M., it was moved by Councilman <br />Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Reid that the meeting be adjourned to meet <br />aSain in Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M,, on February 2, 1970. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Betatile, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> ~E~ C: ~CARTi, City' Cler~"~~'' <br /> <br /> BERNARD T.
