Miss Boyd, Alameda County Librarian~ reported to the City Council that the current lease on the library located on Abbie Street expires on January 31, 1971. She advised the Council that that facility is less than half the size needed to meet the use the citizens of Pleasanton need. ~tiss boyd emphasized the advantages of leasing a fscilityfacility to be used as a library, rather than making perm- anent arrangements at this time. She offerred three alternatives, namely, 1) the library could either be moved to another building where there is room to expand, 2) space in a commercial development could be adapted to library specifications and leased, or 3) a private developer could be asked to build to specifications and then lease the building to the library.
