11i7 <br /> <br /> T_.h_e .roll .qall v,,o.t~,e.was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Bera~lis, Getton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Fales stated he had forwarded a copy of a League bulletin related to liti~ <br /> gation initiated by PORAC against the City of San Francisco for the Council's <br /> information° <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales stated he bad attached a copy of the agenda for the Community Con- <br /> cerns Committee for the Council's information. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales advised he had attached a copy of the geological report pertaining <br /> to the Hayward Hills for the Council's information. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE C!TY ATTgRNEY <br /> Consideration of confirmatien of itemized cost of weed abatem~nt ~nd. of o~j@cti.ons <br /> thereto by affected property owners <br /> Mr. Hirst advised that this is a relatively routine procedural requirement <br />which, however, must be complied with in order that the City acquire jurisdiction <br />to forward the list of costs to the County Auditor for collection with property <br />taxes. <br /> There were no objections by affected property owners. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Bernills <br />that Resolution No. 70-172, confirming the itemized cost of weed abatement to be <br />forwarded to the County Auditor, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen BerntilE, Getton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COM~3NICATIONS <br /> There were no co~nunications read at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Mayor Reid requested the staff to investigate the traffic control at the <br />Intersection of Golden and Harvest Roads, and prepare a report and recommendation <br />for the Council. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid further requested that in the joint study session between the City <br />Council, Planning Comnission, and General Plan Review Committee, the planned unit <br />development review process be discussed. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Chuck Seymour, 492 San Gabriel Court, addressed the Council regarding the <br />weed abatement problem in Mission Park. <br /> The staff was instructed to find out what are the legal and practical limita- <br />tions to a weed abatement program, and can a municipal weed abatement program <br />include the abatement of weeds which are not necessarily a fire hazard but do <br />constitute an aesthetic problem, and also what action, if any, can a city council <br />take in order to abate weeds and other rank growth on private property which may <br />constitute an eyesore or aesthetic problem. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert E. Lee, 4938 Drywood Street, spoke regarding various problems of <br />density, schools, developers, unified school districts, traffic, bus service, <br />better road control, smog, and soft water service. <br /> <br /> Mr. Victor Bailey, 4565 Black Avenue, addressed the Council regarding developer <br />guide lines, industrial tax base and traffic and commuting problems. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: APPOINTMENTS <br /> Mayor Reid adjourned the meeting at 10:00 P.M., to an Executive Session. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 10:20 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
