MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> .July 6, 1970 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER % PLyEDgE_TO FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Reid called the Adjourned Regular meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />R__OLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: Council- <br />men Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid were present. Councilmen Beratlis and Spilio- <br />topoulos were absent. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, <br />Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Castro, <br />Director of Planning, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENT~ <br /> There were no amendments to the agenda <br /> <br /> Councilman Beratlis joined the meeting at 8:01 P.M. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br />following item listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Adoption of Resolution No. 70-149, authorizing Progress Payment No. 2, in the <br /> amount of $25,410.57, to S. & J. Engineering Company, for work completed on <br /> the Black Avenue Improvement project. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gertou, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos joined the meeting at 8:02 P.M, <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of the Planning Commission for an amendment to Sect. 8.!05~l,_Ord. No. <br />520, in order to allow a "storage yard for commercial and/or recreational vehicles'_L' <br />as a conditional use in an I-P (In~.strial pa~k).District <br /> Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open. <br /> Mr. Castro reviewed the report of the Planning Commission and explained the <br />types of commercial vehicles that would be allowed. <br /> There being no public protest, it was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded <br />by Councilman Gerton that the public hearing be closed. <br />The.roll c~.ll.vgt_e_.was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSEnt: None <br /> <br /> After further discussion of this matter, it was moved by Councilman Spilioto-- <br />poulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Ordinance No. 604, amending Section <br />8.105.1, Ordinance No. 520, to allow a "storage yard for commercial and/or recrea- <br />tional vehicles" as a conditional use in an Industrial Park District, be introduced. <br />The ~oll c~ll v0te..was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid stated his concern over "Conditional Uses" becoming a permanent use. <br />~Qceip~ and Consideration of Public protests Re: Annexation No. 59 (Meadowlark <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales reported that Mr. Carl Munsey, representing Macco Corporation, had <br /> requested that the City Council continue this matter to September 7, 1970. <br /> Mayor Reid advised Mr. Fales to place this on the agenda for September 7, 1970, <br /> for continuance. <br /> <br /> <br />
