CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilman Gerton reported on the recent meeting he attended of the Bay Area Pollution Control District, He indicated that Sonoma and Solano had deleted part of their counties from the District. Councilman Gerton also read excerpts from a Source Inventory. Mayor Reid reported on the Alameda County Mayors' Conference he had attended on May 5th. He stated that both sides of labor relations were discussed by consultants that were present at this meeting. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL EMBERS Councilman Pearson stated that he wished to personally commend Mrs.. Birdie Meier Bianchi for her work on SACEOA. Councilman Gerton asked the staff if they would obtain informat- ion from the State of California to see if any city could refuse to accept a freeway they didn't want, He stated that he was under the assumption that the City of Long Beach had sucessfully refused a freeway.
