Mayor Reid declared the Public Hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Aiello reviewed his report, dated January 14, 1971. He advised <br /> the Council that the Planning Commission adopted Resolution No. 1057 <br /> recommending that the application of Mr. Jones, be approved. <br /> <br />-- There being no oral nor written public protests, it was moved by <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Pearson that <br /> that the public hearing, be closed. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Beratlis <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued regarding access to the Del Valle Parkway and other <br /> related matters. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman <br /> Pearson that Ordinance No. 624, approving the application of Mr. <br /> Russell G. Jones to rezone from the Agriculture District to the Public <br /> and Institutional and the RM-2000 Multiple Family District, that <br /> property described as Parcels 1-3 and 2-2, Block 3370, Assessor's <br /> Map Book 946, .containing approximately 9.7 acres and located gener- <br /> ally north of the~Arroyo del Valle, adjacent to the west boundary <br /> of the P~nador Valley High School, be introduced. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />"~ NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Beratlis <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br /> There were no matters continued for decision. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br /> RepOrt of the Traffic Committee Re: Traffic Safety at the Intersec- <br /> tions of Valley AVenue and Northway Road, and Black Avenue and <br /> Harvest Road. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell asked if there were any questions on the extensive re- <br /> port, dated JanuaEy 25, 1971, which had been forwarded to the <br /> Council for revie~. <br /> <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos stated that he felt that the portable <br /> stop signs, that apparently are not being removed by the crossing <br /> guard before she leaves, is having a tendency to confuse motorists. <br /> Mr. Campbell stated that perhaps these portable signs can be elim- <br /> inated after the crossing guard leaves at 4:00 P.~. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid complemented Mr. Ken Lamb and other members of the Traffic <br /> Committee for their execellent comments in the report. <br /> <br /> The Council asked Mr. Campbell to arrange a meeting with representa- <br /> tives of the petitioners in order to more fully explain the-contents <br /> and conclusions of both his report and also that of the Traffic <br /> Commit. tee. <br /> <br /> 2. 2-1-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
