REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY There were no reports of the City Attorney. COMMUN I CATI ONS There were communications read at this meeting. CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilman Gerton reported that severa2 Northern California Counties were considering to separate from the Bay Area Air Pollution Control District, but felt that as a result of the last meeting of the Board, these counties will probably stay in the District. MATTFRS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS. Mayor Reid reviewed the past Federal Legislation regarding enviorn- mental control and felt that the legislation should be amended to permit the State of California to enact more stringent legislation. After some discussion on this matter, it was moved by Mayor Reid and seconded by Councilman Gerton that the City of Pleasanton fon~ard letters to bot/~ the Federal Government and the State of California regarding an amendment to the Clean Air Act, which would enable the State of California to allow more stringent legislature in all fields of air pollution. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC No one addressed the Chair. STUDY SESSION RE: TPj~FFIC ENGINEERING; ALAMEDA COUNTY TRAFFIC RECORDS SYSTEM Mayor Reid recessed the meeting at 8:15 P.M. to a Study Session in order to discuss items related generally to a county-wide system of gathering traffic data. ~Iayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 9:45 P.M.
