REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />There were no reports of Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />There were no reports of the City Manager. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> <br />There were no reports of the City Attorney. <br /> <br />COMMUN I CATI ONS <br /> <br />There were communications read at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Councilman Gerton reported that severa2 Northern California Counties <br />were considering to separate from the Bay Area Air Pollution Control <br />District, but felt that as a result of the last meeting of the Board, <br />these counties will probably stay in the District. <br /> <br />MATTFRS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid reviewed the past Federal Legislation regarding enviorn- <br />mental control and felt that the legislation should be amended to <br />permit the State of California to enact more stringent legislation. <br /> <br />After some discussion on this matter, it was moved by Mayor Reid and <br />seconded by Councilman Gerton that the City of Pleasanton fon~ard <br />letters to bot/~ the Federal Government and the State of California <br />regarding an amendment to the Clean Air Act, which would enable <br />the State of California to allow more stringent legislature in all <br />fields of air pollution. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br /> Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />STUDY SESSION RE: TPj~FFIC ENGINEERING; ALAMEDA COUNTY TRAFFIC <br />RECORDS SYSTEM <br /> <br />Mayor Reid recessed the meeting at 8:15 P.M. to a Study Session in <br />order to discuss items related generally to a county-wide system of <br />gathering traffic data. <br /> <br />~Iayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 9:45 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJO URNMEN T <br /> <br />There being no further business at 9:47 P.M., it was moved by Council- <br />man Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Gerton that the meeting be <br /> <br /> 2. 1-25-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
