Mr. Castro reviewed his report, dated October 15, 1971, in which was stated that the Planning Commission, after hearing the testimony of Mr. John Corley, representing Holly Sugar Company, who stated that Holly Sugar Company prefered that their property remain in the Agri- cultural District, denied its own application to rezone this property to the Public and Institutional District. There being no comments from the audience, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing be closed. Mr. Edgar reviewed the proposed resolution that was presented to the City Council at a study session held on November 1, 1971. The resol- ution listed, among other matters, that the' City of Pleasanton supp- ort the efforts of V.C.S.D. to resolve the immediate, intermediate, and long-range problems associated with the current sewage crisis. Councilman Gerton initiated discussion regarding the resolution con- taining a statement to the effect that V.C.S.D. will agree not to expand its service area without the consent of the City of Pleasanton. Mr. Hirst was instructed to include this statement in the proposed resolution. It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Mayor Reid that Resolution No. 71-225, regarding Valley Community Services District's immediate, intermediate, and long-range solutions to their sewage disposal problems, be adopted.
