Fairlands, Unit <br /> NO. 8 <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar outlined the advantages this Tract will provide. <br /> <br /> After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Kinney and seconded <br /> by Councilman Herlihy that Resolution No. 72-111, approving Final Map <br /> and Improvement Plans, Tract 3148, Fairlands, Unit No. 8, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Pearson and Mayor Pro Tempore Mori <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Mayor Reid <br /> <br /> Waive reading of Ordinance No. 667, an ordinance amending Chapter V <br /> of Title V of the or'dinance Code Of the City of Pleasanton ~elatin~ <br /> to truck routes by the deletion thereof and the addition of a new <br /> Chapter V relating to the regulation of the use of C'ity Streets by <br /> trucks. <br /> <br /> Adoption of Ordinance No. 667. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell reviewed his report, dated June 23, 1972, in considerable <br /> detail. He explained several charts showing the various types of trucks <br /> on City ~Streets, alternate routes for the gravel trucks which showed <br /> mileage and driving time, and overall costs to the City for street <br /> maintenance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Burke Critchfield, representing the gravel companies, stated that <br /> the~ effect of this ordinance will carry great ramifications for the <br /> 'City, the gravel companies and the general public. He stated that <br /> because of not receiving the report of Mr. Campbell's, which was just <br /> discussed, until last Friday, he was unprepared to make a presentation <br /> at this meeting and asked for one weeks continuance. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pearson replied that the gravel companies have known about <br /> this matter since March 25th and he felt that a decision on this ord- <br /> inance should be made tonight. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pro Tempori Mori concurred with Councilman Pearson and added <br /> that the city is, in essence, subsidizing the gravel companies and <br />..pressed Mr. Critchfield for a presentation. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy stated that he felt that this lack of preparation <br /> on the part of the gravel companies was inexcusable and that they were <br /> ~taking advantage of the City Council. <br /> <br /> After additional discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councilman <br /> Herlihy and seconded by Councilman Kinney to grant Mr. Critchfield <br /> a continuance to July 17th for his presentation and to forward the <br /> information to~ be used at the presentation to the City Council before <br /> July 8th and to include in their presentation the possibility of <br /> <br /> 3. 6'26-72 <br /> <br /> <br />
