MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION Approval of Final Map and .Improvement Plans, Tract 3148. Fairlands, Unit NO. 8 Mr. Edgar outlined the advantages this Tract will provide. After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Kinney and seconded by Councilman Herlihy that Resolution No. 72-111, approving Final Map and Improvement Plans, Tract 3148, Fairlands, Unit No. 8, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Pearson and Mayor Pro Tempore Mori NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Reid Waive reading of Ordinance No. 667, an ordinance amending Chapter V of Title V of the or'dinance Code Of the City of Pleasanton ~elatin~ to truck routes by the deletion thereof and the addition of a new Chapter V relating to the regulation of the use of C'ity Streets by trucks. Adoption of Ordinance No. 667. Mr. Campbell reviewed his report, dated June 23, 1972, in considerable detail. He explained several charts showing the various types of trucks on City ~Streets, alternate routes for the gravel trucks which showed mileage and driving time, and overall costs to the City for street maintenance. Mr. Burke Critchfield, representing the gravel companies, stated that the~ effect of this ordinance will carry great ramifications for the 'City, the gravel companies and the general public. He stated that because of not receiving the report of Mr. Campbell's, which was just discussed, until last Friday, he was unprepared to make a presentation at this meeting and asked for one weeks continuance. Councilman Pearson replied that the gravel companies have known about this matter since March 25th and he felt that a decision on this ord- inance should be made tonight. Mayor Pro Tempori Mori concurred with Councilman Pearson and added that the city is, in essence, subsidizing the gravel companies and ..pressed Mr. Critchfield for a presentation. Councilman Herlihy stated that he felt that this lack of preparation on the part of the gravel companies was inexcusable and that they were ~taking advantage of the City Council. After additional discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councilman Herlihy and seconded by Councilman Kinney to grant Mr. Critchfield a continuance to July 17th for his presentation and to forward the information to~ be used at the presentation to the City Council before July 8th and to include in their presentation the possibility of 3. 6'26-72
