PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Appeal of Cummings and Co.mp..any from an adverse decision of the .Planning <br />Commission in denying a Franklin Savings and Loan time and temperature <br />sign. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar reported that this public hearing will be heard on June 26th. <br /> <br />Appeal of Willow West Properties from an adverse decision of the Planning <br />Commission regarding Commercial Zoning of the appiication for a Regional <br />Shopping Center <br /> <br />Mro Edgar reported that the public .hearing on this appeal will be sched- <br />uled for August 21, 1972~ <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br />Application of the Planning Commission. Re: Proposed Ordinance of the City ... <br />of Pleasanton amending Chapter 2 of Title II of 'the' O'rd~nance Code of ~he" ' <br />C'~'ty of Pleasanton by the addition thereto of Article 13.5 providing for <br />an RMR Multi-Family Residential Overlay District and for regulations and <br />requirements with respect thereto <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar asked that this matter be continued on July 24, 1972. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br />Reconsideration of Application of Citizens Savings and Loan at the Alpha <br />Beta Center <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar reviewed his report, dated June 14, 1972, in which he recommend- <br />ed that the City Council not reconsider the application of Citizens Sav- <br />ings and Loan for a branch office at the Alpha Beta Shopping Center. He <br />stated that his recommendation is based on the following reasons: <br /> <br /> 1. The letter from Citizens Savings and Loan does not present <br /> any new evidence. <br /> <br /> 2. The Federal and State agencies which regulate Savings and <br /> Loam institutions have not changed their policies concerning <br /> the location of these types of institutions. <br /> <br /> 3. The General Plan objectives have not changed since the orig- <br /> inal application was considered. <br /> <br />Mr. Corley, representing Citizens Savings and Loan, stated that he was <br />trying to work out some arrangement with the City Manager to obtain a <br />Conditional Use Permit that would allow his client to operate in the <br />Alpha Beta Center for a five year period and then, if practical, move <br />to the down town area. <br /> <br />Mr. Corley asked the City Council to make a decision on this appeal as <br />soon as possible as his clients have until August 14th to start business. <br /> <br />After considerable discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councilman <br />Herlihy and seconded by Councilman Kinney that this matter be referred <br />to the Planning Commission" for a preliminary report in conjunction wi~h <br />the General Plan Review studies. <br /> <br />The roll. call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney and Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Mori and Mayor Reid <br /> <br /> 2. 6-19-72 <br /> <br /> <br />
