It was movedby. Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Mori <br />that Ordinance No. 666, be introduced and adopted on an urgency basis. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Letter from John G. Ames, Re: Traffic Conditions <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar stated that he has referred this letter to the Traffic Advis- <br />ory Committee for their consideration and comments prior to it being <br />discussed at Council level. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Councilman Pearson reported on the Bay Area Pollution Control Board <br />Meeting he had attended, at which was discussed some of the. 'restrictions <br />that are going to be placed on construction in the Bay Area. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br />Councilmen Kinney commended Mayor Reid for his efforts in..conducting <br />community relations meetings on Saturday mornings-. .Councilman .Kinney <br />indicated that he would be glad to help in this program. <br /> <br />Councilman Mori questioned the effect of these" meetings. He suggested <br />that his prior recommendation to hold quarterly "Town Hall" Meetings, <br />be pursued. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />Mr. Hal Lohmann, 5411 Greenfield, complained about the physical struct- <br />ure of the Valley Planning Committee regarding the fact~ that no commut- <br />ers are represented on this committee. <br /> <br />Mr. Robert Lee, 4938 Drywood, spoke to the quality. of the water in <br />Pleasanton and the need of having water softening service~~ <br /> <br />Mr. Michael Hemp, 2291 Segundo, regarding the service. stationssituation <br />on Hopyard Road, stated that the saturation of Hopyard Road as far as <br />service stations are concerned, is now complete~ <br /> <br />Mr. Hemp also stated his desire of having "Town Hatt"-meetings. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />Mayor Reid recessed the meeting to an executive session at!-10:00 P.M. <br />Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 11:55 P.M. <br /> <br />It was then moved by Councilman Kinney and seconded by Councilman <br />Herlihy that Resolution No. 72-103, regarding salary and fringe benefits <br />for Department ttead Positions subordinate to the City-Manager, be <br />adopted o <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and.
