~tATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br /> Councilman Pearson stated that he felt the City Attorney should pre- <br /> pare a report regarding the $37,000,000 suit, for public distribution <br /> and a public study session be held on this matter. Mayor Reid replied <br /> that the City Council has responsibily addressed itself to all problems <br /> and will not shirk its duties now but he would prefers to wait for <br /> a report from the City A-Ltorney. Councilman Pearson reiterated his <br /> feelings on this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney reported that the City of Pleasanton should be proud <br /> of Youth Sports as the "Under 12 Youth Soccer Team" won the State <br /> Championship and suggested that letters of commendation be forwarded <br /> to all the .personnel involved. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney and seconded by Councilman Mori that <br /> the "Under 12 Youth Soccer Team" be congradulated for winning the <br /> State Championship . <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori and Councilman Pearson initiated discussion regard- <br /> ing the City Council Meetings starting at 7:00 P.M. instead of 8:00 P.M. <br /> in the hopes that the meetings can be adjourned one hour earlier. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Mori and seconded by Councilman Pearson <br />that the City Council Meetings be held from 7:00 P.M. commencing pn <br />June 5, 1972. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Cluncilmen }terlihy, Kinney, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded <br />by Councilman Mori that smoking be prohibited during the City Council <br />Meetings. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Mori and Pearson <br />NOES: Councilman Herlihy and Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Councilman Kinney <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />Wickie Campbell, 4095 Moselle Court, Francis Headley, 1640 Orchard Way, <br />and Paul Anderson, 4074 Moselle Court, each spoke to the $37,000,000 <br />suit filed against the City and V.C.S.D. by the developers. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid answered that the City Council is taking no action or public <br />stand on this matter until they have reviewed the report from the City <br />Attorney that is forthcomming. <br /> <br />STUDY SESSION - COMMUNITY CONCERNS COMMITTEE <br />Mayor Reid recessed the meeting to a Study Session at 9:35 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor reconvened the meeting at 10:15 P.M. and then recessed to an <br />Executive Session at 10:20 P.M. <br /> <br /> 5. 5-8-72 <br /> <br /> <br />
