MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> Of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> May 8, 1972 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> <br />Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeti~ of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 P.M. and then led the'pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> <br />City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid were present. <br />Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. ttirst, City Attorney and Mr. Campbell, <br /> Director of Public Works were prasent. Mr. Castro, Director of Commun- <br /> ity Development, was absent. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar requested that an item proclaiming May 14th-20th, 1972 as <br />Police Appreciation Week be added to the Consent Calendar, as well <br />as an item accepting an easement from the Housing Authority and an <br />item requesting the introduction of an ordinance regarding "waiting <br />time" of Taxi Cabs be added to Matters Continued for Decision. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Mori that <br />the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br /> Approval of the City Council Minutes for the month of <br /> March, 1972. <br /> <br /> b. Adoption of Resolution No. 72-73, accepting a Grant Deed <br /> from Richard J. and Rose H. Bowers for Public Service <br /> Easement. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 72-74, accepting the public <br /> improvements and approval of Progress Payment No. 4, <br /> in the amount of $1,266.06, to East Bay Excavating Co. <br /> for work completed on the Bernal Avenue Realignment <br /> Project No. 71-4. <br /> <br /> d. Adoption of Resolution No. 72 75, approving progress <br /> I payment No. 2, in the amount of $16,031.95 to Les Mc- <br /> Donald Construction Company for construction l of street <br /> improvements on Valley Avenue, Project No. 71-7. <br /> <br /> e. Proclaiming the week of May 14th-20th, 1972 as Police <br /> Appreciation Week. <br /> <br /> f. Adoption of Resolution No. 72.76, accepting a Fire Service <br /> Easement from the Housing Authority. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> <br />
