MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> April 3, 1972 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG <br /> <br />Mayor Robert Reid called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council to order at 8:00 P.M. and then led the pledge of allegiance <br />to the-flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />City Clerk. Helen McCarty called th~ro~l which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson and Mayor Reid were present. <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos was absent.* Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. <br />Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Mr. <br />Castro, Director of Community Development, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar reported that he had received a request ~from Mr., George Oakes <br />who wished to make a few remarks regarding the Fairfield Shopping <br />Center immediately after the adoption of the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar.~be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Adoption of Resolution No. 72-45, authorizing Progress <br /> Payment No. 1, in the amount of $,7,467.52, be paid to <br /> Three-D Construction Company, Incorporated, for the work <br /> completed on Amador Valley Commun~ity Park. <br /> <br /> bo Adoption of Resolution No. 172.46,~autho~izing the City <br /> Clerk to canvas the returnsof the April 1t,.!19~72 Election. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was-as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen. Be~atlis, Gerton,_.PearsDn and~Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br />Mr. George Oakes reported that the W.T. Grant Stores are anxious to <br />proceed with the Shopping Cente~at Fai~landso. ,Mr. Dakes,advised the <br />Council that he was working with the City Staff tolwoEklout a means <br />for a temporary sewer system that would .accomodate the facility as <br />well as the rest of the Shopping Center. Co~ncilman~Pearson suggested <br />that this matter be discussed with the new Council~aEtez election but <br />Mayor Reid advised Mr. Oakes to proceed with his planning with ~the Staff, <br />however, the final. project is subject, to City.,~Council. approval. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Application of the Plannin~ Commission to reclassif~proper~ies tri- <br />butar~ ~o the Sunol.Boulevard Se.wa~ei Tre'atmen~ ,~an~.. to the Stud~ Dis- <br />trict. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open and asked fora. staff report. <br /> <br />Mr. Castro reviewed his report, dated March 30, 1972.
