REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission, Re: Con- <br />struction of an additional temporary baseball diamond at the Youth Sports Park <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the staff report regarding this matter, recommending <br />approval of another baseball diamond. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, to <br />approve construction of an additional temporary baseball diamond at the Youth <br />Sports Park subject to the conditions listed in the Park and Recreation <br />Commission Resolution No. 72-10. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report of the Planning Commission~ Re: Clari. fication of the City Council Policy <br />re~ardin8 location of financial institutions <br /> This matter was continued to the meeting of January 8, 1973. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Review of bids and award of contractl Loma Alta Park <br /> Mro Campbell stated that bids had been received and opened at 2:00 P.M., <br />today with favorable low bids received, however, there has not been sufficient <br />time to evaluate the bids, or prepare a reputability statement on the three <br />low bidders as requested by the Council. <br /> <br /> This matter was continued to the meeting of January 8, 1973, for a further <br />report~ <br /> <br />Report~ Re: Progress Report on Gravel Companies and Authorization to proceed <br />with construction project <br /> Jim Walker presented the report of the City Manager regarding this matter, <br />stating the $30,000.00 had been received, and that the gravel companies had <br />established sales offices in Pleasanton as required by the Agreement. He fur- <br />ther stated it would now be in order for the Council to authorize the staff to <br />retain a traffic consultant to proceed with signalization on First Street and <br />other related projects. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell explained the need for a traffic consultant for the problem <br />areas and an overall uniform traffic flow on First Street. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Mori, to <br />authorize the staff to secure bids to retain a traffic consultant for work <br />related to the installation of the traffic signal on First Street and other <br />projects as required in the Gravel Agreement. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Ncne <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br />Mro Edgar presented the attendance reports of the Planning Commission and <br />the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> Mr'~ Edgar presented a telegram from the Alameda County Council of Fire- <br />fighters, supporting Fireman William Berry. <br /> <br /> Mr'~ Edgar presented the report of the Park and Recreation Department re- <br />garding Trees and Fences. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Letter from Steve Swensen~ Re: Wooden fence i~ front of Del Prado Apartments <br /> Mr. Edgar presented this letter for the information of the Council. <br /> <br />Letter from V.C.S.D.~ to Alameda County Board of SupervisorsT Re: Position on <br />Kaiser Dump Site <br /> Mr. Edgar presented this letter for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> 7. 12/18/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
