MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> October 24, 1972 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Councilman William Herlihy called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney and Pearson were present. Councilman Mori and Mayor <br /> Reid were absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, and Mr. <br /> Campbell, Director of Public Works, were present. Mr. Castro, Director of Com- <br /> munity Development, was absent° <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar stated there were two agenda amendments as follows: Under Item 7b, <br /> a presentation by the Traffic Committee regarding the traffic safety program; and <br /> under the Consent Calendar, the addition that the findings indicate that the fol- <br /> lowing two projects will have significant impact on environment, therefore, will <br /> require Environmental Impact Statements: 1. Pleasanton Greens <br /> 2. Group allocations for single-family homes per Regional Water Quality <br /> Control Board order (Morrison and Elliott). <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for October 9, 1972. <br /> <br />b. Approval of Claims and review of financial reports for September, 1972. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 72-178, accepting Grant Deed from Nomark <br /> Development Company for public service easement. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 72-179, approving Resolution of Intention to <br /> abandon portion of Valley Avenue, and set public hearing for 10-13-72. <br /> <br /> e. Finding there will be significant impact on environment, the following <br /> will be required to have Environmental Impact Statements: <br /> 1. Pleasanton Greens <br /> 2. Group allocations for single-family homes per Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board order (Morrison and Elliott). <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney and Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Mori and Mayor Reid <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Presentation by Preserve Area RidSeland Committee <br />Mrs. Margaret Tracy, representing Preserve Area Ridgeland Committee, <br />presented slides and visual aids regarding preservation of ridgelands, and <br />requested local endorsement and support of their concept. <br /> <br /> <br />
