MINUTES
o£
THE MEETING
of
THE CITY COUNCIL

October 9, 1972

CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG
Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at
8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag.

ROLL CALL
Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows:
Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid were present. Edgar stated that with reference to items b and c under the Consent Calendar,
the City Council should make the finding that since this was a general rezoning ia
which no project was involved, this application would be exempt from the Environmen-
tal Impact Statement requirement announced recently by the California Supreme Court,
and that at the time that the Tentative Development Plans were submitted, an Impact
Statement would be required. Mr. Edgar stated that this finding should be made part
of the approval of this application.

Councilman Herlihy indicated that the words "work is progressing satisfactorily"
in the Director of Public Works' memorandum regarding Progress Payment No. 3 to
Steiny and Company for work on traffic signals at Santa Rita Road and Hopyard Road,
were misleading and inappropriate since the project has not been completed as
scheduled.

CONSENT CALENDAR
It was moved by Councilman Mori and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the
following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved, with the above amend-
merits:

a.
