REPORTS OF tHE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Proposed ASrean~nt w~th Kaiser~ Re: Use of their property for mini-bike area <br /> Mr. Hirst ~t~a~ed he had prepared a draft agreement regarding some property <br /> owned by Kaiser Sand and Gravel, whereby the property would be used as an area <br /> upon which mind--bikes could be operated. <br /> Mr. Gary Fa~n presented the report regarding this matter, stating ~he Park <br /> and Recreation i~epartment had been directed to look for possible property tha~ <br /> might be avail~bie ~or a mini-bike site. He further stated every possible si~e <br /> had been checke~ and the proposed area at Kaiser Sand and Gravel was available~ <br /> The draft agre~n~ent had been orally approved by Kaiser Management but had ~oc <br /> gone before their Legal Department. Mr. Patton further stated the~e were many <br /> undesirable f~c~ors in regard to this proposed location in regard te proximiEy <br /> to residential development, noise and dust pollution, and safety of bike riders, <br /> Mr. David Abbey, 4354 Dorman Court, Pleasanton, spoke in opposition to ~he <br /> Kaiser site because it would be a dangerous site for mini-~,ikes due to rocks and <br /> gravel, and s~=ggested a site at Camp Parks or the old Sewage Far~. <br /> Mrs. Phy!i~s E. Dress, Hacienda Mobile Home Park, sF k~ in opposition to the <br /> proposed Kaiser site, stating that it was too close to [ ~ Mobile Home area where <br /> retired and ellderly people lived, and who needed a quiet place. <br /> Mr. Richsod McDonnell, Hacienda Mobile Home Park, spoke in strong opposition <br />to the proposed n~a. ni-bike site at Kaiser because of the ]I~?'.imity to the Mobile <br />Home development, ~J~e noise and dust factor, and ot'Le~ p~ 'lems that wo~id arise. <br />He presented a peLiEion signed by 122 residents of th~ I~! lenda Mobile Home Park, <br />located at 3231 Vineyard Avenue, objecting to any pro]I3s~-~ mini-bike park in the <br />abandoned graval pit on Stanley Blvd. <br /> Mr. Lee ~na~ai, who owns the property adjacent to the Hacienda Mcbi!a Home <br />Park, sent a cor~m~unication stating he was against uhe proposed mini-bike park. <br /> Mr. John L~g, who could not attend the meekly!g, santa communication citing <br />the case of ~he motorcycle races at the Fairgrounds, ~nd calls related to noise <br />complaints~ <br /> Mr. Atthu~ Pokerson, of Remitlard Brick Compaay, also wished to be declared <br />on record as being opposed to t~is proposed mini-bike site. <br /> Mayor Reid requesEed that this matter be referred to the Park and Recreation <br />Commission ~or further study and recommendation. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATION~ <br /> There were no connnunications presented at tL~ ~ meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COP~tMI~TEE REPORTS <br /> There we~Te no City Council Committee Repor? · presented at this meeting~ <br /> <br />MATTERS INrFiAFED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Mori requested a traffic report be made available tc Ehe public in <br />order that Lhey might gel a better understanding of the traffic situation in <br />Pleasanton~ <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid requested that the 5th Monday night Council meeting be designated <br />to informatio~al items~ <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one add~essed ~he Chair. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Reid recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 8:45 P.M~ <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid feconvened the meeting at 9:35 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There belng no [u~ther business at 9:40 P.M., it was moved by Councilm~.~ Mori <br />and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the meeting be adjourned to meet aga~ fn <br />Regular Session at 7:00 P.M., on September 25, 1972. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 4. 9/18/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
