It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that the application of the Fair Association to hold a Rodeo on October 13, 14, and 15, 1972, with the provision that the City be reimbursed for costs to the City resulting from this event, be approved. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Kinney Report Re: Use of Town Meeting Concept to Provide Citizen Input Mr. Edgar reviewed his report on this matter, dated June 23, 1972. After some discussion, it was decided to tentatively schedule a Town Meeting for the let Mon- day in October. Matters for the Information of the Council Mr. Edgar reviewed a letter, dated June 28, 1972, from Valley Community Ser- vices District regarding the submittal of a study entitled "Projected Impact of Annexation of Camp Parks to VCSD". Mr~ Edgar stated that this would be a signi- ficant study which would have a great impact on the future of the City of Pleasanton and on the work being done on the General Plan Review. He recom- mended that this matter be forwarded to both the Planning Commission and the Valley Planning Committee for recommendation to the City Council. The City Council concurred,.and Mayor Reid asked that this information also be referred to the Park and Recreation Commission. Mr. Edgar noted that the response from the gravel companies to the proposal related to the prohibition of truck traffic on City streets had been made avail- able to the City Council over the weekend, and copies were now available to the Press. Mr. Edgar stated that the Director of Public Works had advised the City that a Grant application for $30,000.00 for the improvement of Rotringer Park had been approved. The grant requires "in-kind" services from the City. Mr. Edgar referred to the fact that the City Council had received a letter from Mr. Hugh Ellessaer, in which comments from the Clean Air Coordinating Com- mittee were refuted. Mr. Edgar reported that the Assessed Valuation amounts have been determined, however, this amount on the Public Utility roll is not available yet° He re- ported that $91,203,443.00 is the amount reported by Alameda County and this is only $14,661.00 more than what was originally estimated. REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY Approval of Total Cost of Weed Abatement and Filin~ Aesess~.ent against Property Owners for Weed Abatement Costs Mr. Hirst reported that the City Council has received a list of properties and costs abated this year which will be forwarded to the Alameda County Auditor and if not paid will be placed on the tax roll for collection. There was no response from the public to Mayor Reid's request for objections to costs for the abatement of weeds in the City of Pleasanton. It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that Resolution No. 72-121, approving the total cost of weed abatement and filing assessment against property owners for weed abatement costs, be adopted.
