It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that the <br />application of the Fair Association to hold a Rodeo on October 13, 14, and 15, 1972, <br />with the provision that the City be reimbursed for costs to the City resulting from <br />this event, be approved. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Kinney <br /> <br />Report Re: Use of Town Meeting Concept to Provide Citizen Input <br /> Mr. Edgar reviewed his report on this matter, dated June 23, 1972. After some <br />discussion, it was decided to tentatively schedule a Town Meeting for the let Mon- <br />day in October. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar reviewed a letter, dated June 28, 1972, from Valley Community Ser- <br />vices District regarding the submittal of a study entitled "Projected Impact of <br />Annexation of Camp Parks to VCSD". Mr~ Edgar stated that this would be a signi- <br />ficant study which would have a great impact on the future of the City of <br />Pleasanton and on the work being done on the General Plan Review. He recom- <br />mended that this matter be forwarded to both the Planning Commission and the <br />Valley Planning Committee for recommendation to the City Council. The City <br />Council concurred,.and Mayor Reid asked that this information also be referred <br />to the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar noted that the response from the gravel companies to the proposal <br />related to the prohibition of truck traffic on City streets had been made avail- <br />able to the City Council over the weekend, and copies were now available to the <br />Press. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that the Director of Public Works had advised the City that <br />a Grant application for $30,000.00 for the improvement of Rotringer Park had been <br />approved. The grant requires "in-kind" services from the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar referred to the fact that the City Council had received a letter <br />from Mr. Hugh Ellessaer, in which comments from the Clean Air Coordinating Com- <br />mittee were refuted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar reported that the Assessed Valuation amounts have been determined, <br />however, this amount on the Public Utility roll is not available yet° He re- <br />ported that $91,203,443.00 is the amount reported by Alameda County and this is <br />only $14,661.00 more than what was originally estimated. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Approval of Total Cost of Weed Abatement and Filin~ Aesess~.ent against Property <br />Owners for Weed Abatement Costs <br /> Mr. Hirst reported that the City Council has received a list of properties <br />and costs abated this year which will be forwarded to the Alameda County Auditor <br />and if not paid will be placed on the tax roll for collection. <br /> <br /> There was no response from the public to Mayor Reid's request for objections <br />to costs for the abatement of weeds in the City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that <br />Resolution No. 72-121, approving the total cost of weed abatement and filing <br />assessment against property owners for weed abatement costs, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Kinney <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> There were no communications read at this meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> 2. 7/10/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
