MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> 3uly 10, 1972 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 7:00 P.M~, and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen C. McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid were present. Councilman Kinney <br /> was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, <br /> Director of Public Works, were present. Mr. Castro, Director of Community Develop- <br /> ment, was absent. <br /> <br />AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mayor Reid directed the City Clerk to correct the Minutes of June 26th, page 5, <br /> from BASSO to BASSA. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy directed the City Clerk to include the names of the City <br />Council in the roll call in the Minutes of June 12, 1972. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved as corrected: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for the month of June, 1972. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 72-119, authorizing progress payment No. 3, <br /> in the amount of $2,423.34, to Three D Construction Co., for work com- <br /> pleted on Mackay Park, Phase I. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 72-120, authorizing progress payment No. 1, <br /> in the amount of $14,948.82, to Fiske and Quatman for completion of work <br /> on Val Vista Park, Phase I. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Kinney <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report Re: Application for Rodeo Event at FairSrounds <br /> Mr. Edgar reviewed his report, dated July 10, 1972, on the application to hold <br />a Rodeo at the Fairgrounds on October 13, 14, and 15th, 1972. <br /> <br /> Mr, Edgar recommended approval of this application with the understanding that <br />the cost to the City resulting from the event be reimbursed. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested that the City Manager provide the Council with <br />actual costs after the event is held. <br /> <br /> <br />
