PUBLIC HF~ING <br /> There were no Public Hearings presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson requested that Mrs. Harriett Stephens make her presentation at <br /> this time~ <br /> <br /> Mrs~ Harriett Stephens, 5072 Woodthrush Way, spoke concerning development and <br /> maintenance of Woodthrush Park. She presented a Statement as follows: "We, the <br /> interested and concerned users of the proposed Woodthrush Park, are aware of the <br /> Cit ' <br /> financial status of the y s Park and Recreation Department. We therefore are <br /> willing to commit our services under City supervision towards the maintenance of <br /> the above park. We do this with the understanding that when the economic condi- <br /> tions are such that the City of Pleasanton can resume its' rightful role in City <br /> services this particular commitment will end." This Statement was signed by 30 <br /> residents in the Pleasanton Valley area of this proposed park. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson declared this item be considered with the proposed 1973-74 <br /> Budget, and requested the City Attorney to draft an Agreement to be considered <br /> in regard to this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid requested a report regarding the existing maintenance sche- <br /> dule to determine what can be done by residents in the Community and what actual <br /> costs will still accrue to the City. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested a report on the City's total park land, developed <br /> and undeveloped, and developmental status of said lands. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Appeal of John qui~dimil~ 590 Mission D~ive~ Pleasanton~ of the Plannin~ Commis- <br />sion decision approvin~. a Conditional Use Permit for the construction of the <br />Pleasanton Joint School District Administration Office to be located on the <br />district school site in the Mission Park Development <br /> <br />Report of the Ci.t~Mana~er Re: School District Office <br /> Mr. Edgar stated this item has been continued from the meeting of April 23, <br />1973, in an attempt to work out arrangements with the School District to relocate <br />their offices on the Civic Center site. H~ further stated that after several <br />meetings, the Ad Hoc Committee, composed of members of the City Council and the <br />School Boards, has reached agreement and supports the staff's proposal for an <br />exchange of land parcels and a lease back arrangement. It is proposed that the <br />School District deed in fee to the City parcels of approximately 3 acres each <br />at the following 4 sites: Mission Park; Del Prado; Fairlands; and Harvest Park. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell reviewed the land appraisals, which were done by Mro David DeVoe, <br />and presented maps showing the properties that are being swapped and which ones <br />are being leased back. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ron Bolt, 576 Mission Drive, asked how this item would be dismissed from <br />the agenda and the length of the lease between the School District and the City. <br />He was advised that if the Appeal is approved it will automatically be removed <br />from the agenda, and the length of the lease is ten years, with an option to renew <br />for another ten years. Mr. Bolt expressed appreciation to the City Council in <br />their consideration of this matter, and stated that the residents of Mission Park <br />are willing to cooperate in any way possible to further the best interests of the <br />community~ <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori commended the City staff and School District for their efforts <br />in the solution of this problem° <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br />Resolution No. 73-88, approving the appeal of John Quindfmil, 590 Mission Drive, <br />Pleasanton, of the Planning Commission decision approving a Conditional Use <br />Permit for the construction of the Pleasanton Joint School District Administra- <br />tion Office to be located on the district school site in the Mission Park Develop- <br />ment, be adopted~ <br /> <br /> 2. 5/21/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
