MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL April 9, 1973 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Robert Reid called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P~M,, and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag~ ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid were present, Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, we~e present, AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr~ Edgar requested that Item 10, Reports of the City Attorney be heard first. CONSENT CALENDAR It was move~ by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the ~oliow]ng items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: a. Approval o~ City Council Minutes of April 2, 1973. b=. Adopt~.o~. o~ Resolution No. 73-60, approving modification to the ambulance contract to note the change from Allen's Ambulance to Fremont Ambulance~ The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None Mayor Reid resigned his position as Mayor and requested a reorganization of the City Council prior to May lot. He further stated he did not intend to seek re- election to the Council in 1974, although he said he was not stepping out of the political arena, He stated the experience of being Mayor was broadening and he felt the responsibility should be passed ono REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY Introduction of an ordinance clarifying the purpose of the ~dditional charge for sewer treatment service Mr, Hirst presented a draft of the ordinance regarding a clarification of the sewer service charges which clarifies Section 2-15.03 of Ordinance No. 661, adopted May 1, 1972~ It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that Ordinance No, 695, an ordinance clarifying the provisions of Section 2-15o03 of Article 1, Chapter 8, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to sewer service charges, be adopted on an urgency basis° The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None Councilman Herlihy requested that Mro Sheidig report back to the City Council regarding the feasibility of imposing the sewer service charge as a tax, thereby permitting it to be tax deductible. R_~o__r~ Fee Schedule for Environmental Impact Statements Mr, Hirst presented a draft resolution regarding this matter and urged its adoption in order to have a fee schedule available in the event that an E.I~R, had to be prepared in the near future.
