MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> April 9, 1973 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Reid called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br /> order at 8:00 P~M,, and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag~ <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid were present, Mr. Edgar, <br />City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, <br />we~e present, <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr~ Edgar requested that Item 10, Reports of the City Attorney be heard first. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was move~ by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br /> ~oliow]ng items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval o~ City Council Minutes of April 2, 1973. <br /> <br />b=. Adopt~.o~. o~ Resolution No. 73-60, approving modification to the ambulance <br /> contract to note the change from Allen's Ambulance to Fremont Ambulance~ <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid resigned his position as Mayor and requested a reorganization of the <br />City Council prior to May lot. He further stated he did not intend to seek re- <br />election to the Council in 1974, although he said he was not stepping out of the <br />political arena, He stated the experience of being Mayor was broadening and he <br />felt the responsibility should be passed ono <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Introduction of an ordinance clarifying the purpose of the ~dditional charge for <br />sewer treatment service <br /> Mr, Hirst presented a draft of the ordinance regarding a clarification of the <br />sewer service charges which clarifies Section 2-15.03 of Ordinance No. 661, adopted <br />May 1, 1972~ <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that <br />Ordinance No, 695, an ordinance clarifying the provisions of Section 2-15o03 of <br />Article 1, Chapter 8, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton <br />relating to sewer service charges, be adopted on an urgency basis° <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested that Mro Sheidig report back to the City Council <br />regarding the feasibility of imposing the sewer service charge as a tax, thereby <br />permitting it to be tax deductible. <br /> <br />R_~o__r~ Fee Schedule for Environmental Impact Statements <br /> Mr, Hirst presented a draft resolution regarding this matter and urged its <br />adoption in order to have a fee schedule available in the event that an E.I~R, <br />had to be prepared in the near future. <br /> <br /> <br />
