New Commercial Building owned by Daniel Smith at 608 Main Street~ <br /> <br />~" The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> Resolution of the Park and Recreation Commission~ Re: Review of Final Plans for <br /> Kottin~er Park <br /> Mr. John Bowling, Pleasanton Housing Authority, presented the final plans for <br /> Kottinger Park, showing minor changes, which have been approved by the Planning <br /> Commission and the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid asked if some provision for right-of-way or some way to connecting <br /> the proposed Kottinger Park with the existing Park along Kottinger had been made. <br /> Mr. Bowling informed him that this had not been done as yet. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br /> Resolution No. 73-56, approvtng the final plans for Kottinger Park, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid requested that the staff direct the Park and Recreation Commission <br /> to prepare the implementation of a plan to utilize the right-of-way or service <br /> easements to connect the existing Kottinger Park and the proposed Kottinger Park, <br /> for City Council review. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Review of ~ids~ Award of Contract on..PrOle~t.73-1, Hopyard Widening at Pleasanton <br /> Canal <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the staff report regarding this matter. He recommended <br /> that the bid be awarded to East Bay Excavating Co., Inc., the low bidder on this <br /> project. He further recommended that Alternate A, the pedestrian bridge, be de- <br /> leted from the bids as all appeared to be high, and suggested that the City build <br /> the bridge. <br /> <br /> There was discussion regarding the difference in the contractors bids and the <br /> engineer's estimate on this project, and the availability of City staff to build <br /> the pedestrian bridge. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that <br /> Resolution No. 73-57, awarding the bid for Project No. 73-1, Hopyard Road widen- <br /> ing at Pleasanton Canal, to East Bay Excavating Co., Inc., in the amount of <br /> $147,502.00, deleting Alternate A, and authorizing the proper City officials <br /> to execute the contract, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: Councilman Herlihy <br />---- ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid requested the staff to prepare a report regarding the estimated <br /> cost to build a pedestrian bridge in connection with this project. <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented snAppeal from Mr. and Mrs. Warren Herding, 540 E. Angels, <br /> and Mrs. Marti Kardinal, 3239 Runnymede Court, regarding petition for review by <br /> the State Water Resources Control Board. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that the matter of Intra-Valley Transportation Studies should <br /> again be studied and reviewed, and recommended that a Joint study session and work- <br /> shop be held with the City of Livermore on April 16, 1973, regarding this matter. <br /> The Council concurred. <br /> 2. 4/2/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
