MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL March 26, 1973 CALL TO ORDER. - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Robert Reid called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herllhy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid were present~ Mr~ Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Patton, Director of Park and Recreation, were present~ Mro Castro, Director of Community Development, was absent. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mrs/} Helen Robinson requested that on Page 1 in regard to amendments tlQ the Minutes of March 12, 1973, that AB 1301 referred to in her remarks should be California Government Code 65858. Councilman Pearson requested that an amendment be made to the Minutes on Page 5, under Report, Re: Application to hold Country Jamboree at Fairgrounds, to include the statement that "the service contract with the Fair is now in preparation and should be ready for review in about one month". Mayoz Reid flequested that an amendment be made to the Minutes on.~age 4, under Approval o~ Final Map and Public Improvements, Tract 3311, Val Vista, that Mr. Hirst's remarks be expanded to include "and because of the Court Ruling a 'No~ vote would be ~n violation of the Court ruling". CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Mori and seconded by Councilman Herlihy that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved as amended: a. Approval oi City Council Minutes of March 19, 1973, as amended~ b. Waive reading of Ordinance No. 694, application of the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton to amend Sec. 2-5.47(f), Article 3, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to require screen- ing oi vehicles or appurtenances stored in required sideyards and areas be- tween ~equ~red front yards and the fronts of structures~ c~ Adoption o~ Ordinance No. 694. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-45, approving City Council endorsement of the Valley-wide Fire Manpower Utilization Study financed through the Inter- governmental Personnel Act. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None Mayor Robert Reid introduced Mr. Ken Scheidig, new City Attorney~ Mr. Hirst comnented regarding the high qualifications and experience of Mr'~ Scheidig, and extended congratulations to Mro Scheidig and to the City Council on this appoint- ment~ PUBLIC HEARINGS There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting~
