Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr~ Edgar presented the workshop process for the 1973-74 Budget, which is <br /> scheduled for April 5, 6, and 7, with the staff and Administrative Committee of <br /> the City Council, <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a Schedule of Events for the visit of the Turkish Mayors <br /> on March 22, 1973. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Report~ .Re: Assembly Constitutional Amendment No. 16 <br /> Mr. Hirst presented his report regarding this matter, and stated he would <br />have a £urther report when more information is available. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Letter from Hotline-Dublin~ Re: Support <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the letter from Dublin Hotline regarding support for this <br />service. The City Council requested this letter be forwarded to the Community Con- <br />cerns Committee for consideration in light of the recently established Valley-wide <br />Youth Services Council° <br /> <br />Letter from the Chamber of Commerce~ Re: Growth Rate <br /> Mr. Don McKee, President of the Chamber of Commerce, read a letter from the <br />Chamber of Commerce, date4 March 15, 1973, requesting that the general framework <br />of the City's growth be such as to assure development of the Regional Shopping <br />Center within this City. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid stated that the comments of the Chamber of Commerce contained in <br />the letter would be taken into consideration with the other reports in the final <br />deliberations by the City Council. <br /> <br /> Mr. Frank C. Brandes, Jr., 6889 Corte Sonada, stated that some of the members <br />of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors were also on various committees of <br />the Citizens General Plan Review and had already had an opportunity to voice their <br />opinions. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilman Kinney reported on the Rock, Sand and Gravel Committee meeting of <br />March 16th, stating that progress was being made with the rail companies for more <br />service in the Valley. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pearson stated the Valley Planning Committee Symposium on March 15th <br />was well received. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori reports the Water Interest Committee is still deliberating on <br />recommendations as to what kind of governing body will encompass the Valley. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman Herlihy requested a report from the staff regarding the areas of <br />authority of the Planning Commission, Board of Appeals, Design Review Board, etc. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney asked about the status of the sections of Pleasanton in <br />regard to participation in the Livermore School District boundaries. Mr. Edgar <br />advised him that Pleasanton residents in those Districts who were originally in <br />the School District were still liable for the Bonds. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid commended Councilman Pearson and the staff on the Valley Planning <br />Committee Symposium for the excellent program, and participation of the various <br />government agencies. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Reid recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 10:10 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 10:25 P.M. <br /> <br /> 6o 3/19/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
