The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, and Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Mori and Mayor Reid <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application o£ the Planning Commission to consider the Environmental Impact <br />Statement and to fezone from the R-1-6500 (Single Family) District and the A <br />(Agricultural) District, those properties or parcels identified as follows: <br />Tract #3311 from the R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential) District to the C-S <br />(Commercial Service)~ P (Public and Institutional)~ and I-P (Industrial Park) <br />Dist~ict~ or such other land use as deemed acceptable to the Plannin~ Commission~ <br />and Tract #3312 from the R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential) District to the P <br />(Public and Institutional) District or such other land use as deemed acceptable <br />to the Plannin~ Commission~ and Parcel #941-1302-2-19 from the A (A~ricultural) <br />District to the C-S (Commercial Service) District~ P (Public and Institutional) <br />District~ aad I-P (Planned Industrial) District~ or such other land use as <br />deemed acceptable to the Planni~ Commission~ and said parcel containin~ more <br />or less 13~85 acres; said tracts or parcel of land ~enerally located on the <br />Val Vista Development (Singer Housing Company), frontin~ on Stoneridge Drive~ <br />Holland D~ive~ and Denker Driver Pleasanton <br /> This matter was continued to the meeting of 2-26-73. <br /> <br />Application of the Cit~ Council for removal of certain ~rees on Hopyard Road <br />to permit improvements to the Pleasanton Canal and widenin~ of Hopyard Road~ and <br />approval of P~o~ect No~ 72-6 and authorization to advertise for bids <br /> Councilman Kinney declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Campbell presented the staff reports regarding this matter, declaring a <br />negative environmental impact on this project, outlining the removal of eight <br />trees on Hopyard Road replaced by 16 trees, and displaying plans and specifica- <br />tions for the improvements to Pleasanton Canal and widening of Hopyard Road, and <br />requesting authorization to advertise for bids. <br /> <br /> Mr. Patton elaborated on the condition of the eight trees to be removed as <br />being dead or nearly dead, and suggested they be replaced with 16 trees of <br />various sizes~ <br /> <br /> M~, Robe~'~ E. Kinyon, 1858 Brooktree Way, stated he had no opposition to the <br />removal of trees, but would like to see them replaced with evergreens, to <br />eliminate tree ~eaves falling in his swimming pool. <br /> <br /> M~s~ Joyce LeClaire, 2429 Raven Road, representing Pleasanton Valley Home- <br />~wners Assn~, spoke in favor of the removal of trees, but requested they be <br />replaced with equal size trees. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack B~liock, President, Pleasanton Park Villas Homeowners Assn., stated <br />the ~esidents of that area were in favor of the tree removal, and agreed that 8 <br />trees o~ comparable size should be planted to replace those removed, with smaller <br />ones in a~erna~e locations, and suggest the City start a tree farm. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Rober~ W. Foster, 6028 Sequoia Court, representing Valley Trails Home- <br />owners Assno, stated the residents of that area were in favor of removal of the <br />trees, and being replaced with 8 large trees plus 8 smaller trees. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that <br />~he public ~earing be closed. <br />The ~GI1 cal~ vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Counci~men Herlihy, Kinney, and Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Mori and Mayor Reid <br /> <br /> It was m~ved by Councilman Pearson, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, to <br />accept the negative Environmental Impact Statement on the project and instruct <br />the City ~aff to file it with the State. <br /> <br /> 2. 2/20/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
