MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL January 29, 1973 --CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flago ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid were present° Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, Mr. Castro, Director of Community Development, and Mr. PaTton, Director of Parks and Recreation, were present. AGENDAAMENDMENTS Mr. Edgar requested that an item be included under the Consent Calendar to schedule a public hearing related to Underground Utilities District Noo 73-1, for February 20, 1973. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Mori and seconded by Councilman Herlihy that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved as amended. a. Approval of City Council Minutes for January 22, 1973. b. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-15, approving Grant Deed from MacKay & Somps for limited access to Walter Johnson Park. °'c. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-16, calling a public hearing to determine whether public necessity, health, safety or welfare requires the formation of an underground utility district on both sides of Neal Street between Main Street and First Street, and schedule the public hearing for 2-20-73. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlthy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None PUBLIC HEARINGS Application of the Plannin~ Commission to consider the Environmental Impact Statement and to rezone from the R-1-6500 (StnMle Family) District and the A (A~ricultural) District~...thR~e properties or parcels identified as follows: Tract #3311 from the R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential) District to the C-S (Commercial Service)~ P (Public and Institutional), and I-P (Industrial P.ark) District~ or such othe.r land use as deemed acceptable to the Plannin~ Commission~ and Tract #3312 from the R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential) District to the P (Public and Institutional) District or such other land use as deemed acceptable to the Plannin~ Commissions and Parcel #941-1302-2-19 from the A (A~ricultural) District to the C-S (Commercial Service) District~ P (Public and Institutional) District, and I-.P (Planned Industrial) Districts or such other land use as deemed acceptable to the Plannin~ Commission~ and said parcel containing more or less 13.85 acres; said tracts or parcel of land ~enera!.ly located on the Va! Vista Development (Singer Housing Company)~ fronttng on Stoneridge Driver {olland Drive, and Denker Drive, Pleasanton Mayor Reid stated this matter had been continued from the meeting of 3anuary LS, 1973, and was for the purpose of hearing further testimony from the residents of the Val Vista area. Mr. Edgar stated the Court did request that the City Council pass a Resolu- tion of Intention whether or not to rezone the property in question~ He stated that he and Councilmen Herlihy had made a presentation regarding this matter to the Val Vista Homeowners Association recently, and it was now in order to hear testimony from the residents of that area.
