MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> January 29, 1973 <br /> <br />--CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flago <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid were present° Mr. <br /> Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public <br /> Works, Mr. Castro, Director of Community Development, and Mr. PaTton, Director <br /> of Parks and Recreation, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested that an item be included under the Consent Calendar to <br /> schedule a public hearing related to Underground Utilities District Noo 73-1, <br /> for February 20, 1973. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori and seconded by Councilman Herlihy that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved as amended. <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for January 22, 1973. <br /> <br /> b. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-15, approving Grant Deed from MacKay & Somps <br /> for limited access to Walter Johnson Park. <br /> <br />°'c. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-16, calling a public hearing to determine <br /> whether public necessity, health, safety or welfare requires the formation <br /> of an underground utility district on both sides of Neal Street between <br /> Main Street and First Street, and schedule the public hearing for 2-20-73. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlthy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson, and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> Application of the Plannin~ Commission to consider the Environmental Impact <br /> Statement and to rezone from the R-1-6500 (StnMle Family) District and the A <br /> (A~ricultural) District~...thR~e properties or parcels identified as follows: <br /> Tract #3311 from the R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential) District to the C-S <br /> (Commercial Service)~ P (Public and Institutional), and I-P (Industrial P.ark) <br /> District~ or such othe.r land use as deemed acceptable to the Plannin~ Commission~ <br /> and Tract #3312 from the R-1-6500 (Single Family Residential) District to the P <br /> (Public and Institutional) District or such other land use as deemed acceptable <br /> to the Plannin~ Commissions and Parcel #941-1302-2-19 from the A (A~ricultural) <br /> District to the C-S (Commercial Service) District~ P (Public and Institutional) <br /> District, and I-.P (Planned Industrial) Districts or such other land use as <br /> deemed acceptable to the Plannin~ Commission~ and said parcel containing more <br /> or less 13.85 acres; said tracts or parcel of land ~enera!.ly located on the <br /> Va! Vista Development (Singer Housing Company)~ fronttng on Stoneridge Driver <br /> {olland Drive, and Denker Drive, Pleasanton <br /> Mayor Reid stated this matter had been continued from the meeting of 3anuary <br /> LS, 1973, and was for the purpose of hearing further testimony from the residents <br /> of the Val Vista area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated the Court did request that the City Council pass a Resolu- <br /> tion of Intention whether or not to rezone the property in question~ He stated <br /> that he and Councilmen Herlihy had made a presentation regarding this matter to <br /> the Val Vista Homeowners Association recently, and it was now in order to hear <br /> testimony from the residents of that area. <br /> <br /> <br />
