Mr. Edgar stated that the City of Pleasanton has received the First Place <br />Safety Award presented by State Compensation Fund, and the Award will be pre- <br />sented at the League of California Cities Conference on October 23, 1973. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented an informational pamphlet regarding BASSA. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the Mayor's report on Committee assignments of the Council- <br />men. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that the work load of the staff was at a maximum peak, thus <br />the reason for delays in reports and projects. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from the Office of the Postmaster General, dated <br />October 3, 1973, regarding postal facility to be built in Pleasanton and assuring <br />cooperation with the City regarding site. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from the Department of Transportation, dated <br />October 5, 1973, stating they had received our correspondence regarding Stoneridge <br />Interchange. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Letter from Chamber of Commercea. Re: Sewer Plant Alternatives <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from the Chamber of Commerce Industrial Committee, <br />dated October 4, 1973, requesting a meeting with the City Council to discuss the <br />sewage disposal crisis. The City Council instructed staff to schedule a Joint <br />study session with the Chamber of Commerce Industrial Committee on November 12, <br />1973, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilman Mori reported on the Valley Water Interest Committee, stating that <br />modifications were still being considered regarding the Water Management Plan. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested a copy of the parking formula regarding parking <br />districts. Mr. Edgar stated none had been formalized as yet, however, he would <br />present the Bindi report for an example to be reviewed. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested that the matter of sewage disposal contract be <br />placed on the agenda as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell scheduled a tour of the City for the City Council on October 27th. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 11:25 PoM. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson reconvened the meeting at 11:58 P.M. <br /> <br />AD3OURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 11:59 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Kinney, <br />and seconded by Councilman Reid, that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in <br />Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on October 15, 1973. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br />WILLIAM H. ~'EDGA~, CITY CLERK <br /> 6 o 10/8/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
