MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> October 8, 1973 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Pearson called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson were present. Mr. Edgar, <br /> City Manager, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works, Mr. <br /> Harris, Senior Planner, and Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, were <br /> present. Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, was absent. <br /> <br /> AGERDAAMERDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested that the Pleasanton Swim Club matter be discussed after the <br /> Consent Calendar. <br /> <br /> Mr Edgar requested that an item be added to the Consent Calendar to Proclaim <br /> · <br /> the week of October 21-27, 1973, as National Business Women's Week. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson requested that the Minutes of October 1, 1973, be corrected to <br /> read on page 4 - Interceptor Sewer Line, approximate cost $20,000.00, instead of <br /> $15,000o00; and Feasibility Study approximate cost should be $15,000.00, instead <br /> of $20,000.00. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved as amended: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for October 1, 1973, as amended. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 712, adding Section 2-3.09 to Article 5 (Minor <br /> Subdivisions), Chapter 1 (Subdivisions), Title II (Zoning and Development) <br /> of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to the Filing of <br /> Parcel Maps. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-157, approving Progress Payment No. 3, to East <br /> Bay Excavating Company for Hopyard Road Widening, in the amount of $32,568.25. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-158, approving Progress Payment No. 3, to Lopez <br /> Landscape Contractors, for Loma Alta Park, Project 1, and Fairlands Elementary <br /> School, Project 2, in the amount of $7,856.24. <br /> <br />e. Proclaim the week of October 21-27, 1973, as National Business Women's Week. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Pleasanton Swim Club <br /> Mayor Pearson stated it is the desire of the City Council to investigate the <br />feasibility of working out an agreement with the Swim Club whereby the Aquatic <br />Center Pool could be kept open. Mayor Pearson appointed a Committee to work with <br />the Swim Club on this matter as follows: Councilman Kinney - Chairman; Council- <br />man Mori; Park and Recreation Commission Chairman Jerry Wilfley; and Park and <br />Recreation Commissioner Jim Allen. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated that a decision should be reached based on the City <br />Counctl's previous position regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> <br />
