MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 17, 1973 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Pearson called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council <br /> to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson were present. Mr. Edgar, <br />City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/ <br />Director of Public Works, Mr. Castro, Director of Community Development, Mr. Sooby, <br />Director of Engineering Services, and Mr. Miller, Assistant to the City Manager, <br />were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested that an item be added under 13 - City Council Organization <br />and Areas of Activity. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Reid, that the <br /> following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-149, approving Claims for the month of August, <br /> 1973, in the amount of $335,668.80. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 709, amending Article 16 (Off-Street Parking <br /> Facilities), Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development) of the <br /> Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to funding of off-street <br /> parking facilities. <br /> <br />co Adoption of Ordinance No. 711, amending Ordinance No. 669, Title IV, Chapter <br /> 5, Regulations to Recreation Facilities. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-150, approving Progress Payment No. 13, to <br /> Precomp Tanks, Inc., for Bonds Reservoir construction during August, 1973, <br /> in the amount of $5,508.00. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED:Councilman Mori as to item (b) <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of the City for Removal of Certain Trees within the City of Pleasanton <br /> Mayor Pearson declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sooby presented the staff report regarding this matter and displayed a map <br />showing where the trees would be removed. The five trees to be removed are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1. A 30-inch diameter Black Walnut tree on the south side of Bernal Avenue, <br /> three trees easterly of Augustine Street intersection. Tree is dead and <br /> presents a potential hazard to the public. <br /> <br />2~ A 14-inch diameter Sycamore tree on the south side of Bernal Avenue, three <br /> trees westerly of Harrison Street intersection. Tree is dead and presents <br /> a potential hazard to the public° <br /> <br /> <br />
