MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL September 17, 1973 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Robert Pearson called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson were present. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/ Director of Public Works, Mr. Castro, Director of Community Development, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, and Mr. Miller, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Edgar requested that an item be added under 13 - City Council Organization and Areas of Activity. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Reid, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: a. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-149, approving Claims for the month of August, 1973, in the amount of $335,668.80. b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 709, amending Article 16 (Off-Street Parking Facilities), Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development) of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating to funding of off-street parking facilities. co Adoption of Ordinance No. 711, amending Ordinance No. 669, Title IV, Chapter 5, Regulations to Recreation Facilities. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 73-150, approving Progress Payment No. 13, to Precomp Tanks, Inc., for Bonds Reservoir construction during August, 1973, in the amount of $5,508.00. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAINED:Councilman Mori as to item (b) PUBLIC HEARINGS Application of the City for Removal of Certain Trees within the City of Pleasanton Mayor Pearson declared the public hearing open. Mr. Sooby presented the staff report regarding this matter and displayed a map showing where the trees would be removed. The five trees to be removed are as follows: 1. A 30-inch diameter Black Walnut tree on the south side of Bernal Avenue, three trees easterly of Augustine Street intersection. Tree is dead and presents a potential hazard to the public. 2~ A 14-inch diameter Sycamore tree on the south side of Bernal Avenue, three trees westerly of Harrison Street intersection. Tree is dead and presents a potential hazard to the public°
