REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Further Report~ R.~: Reorganization of Field Services and the Proposed Allocation <br /> of Maintenance Reserve <br /> <br /> Report~ Re: Goals~ Work Pro~rams~ and Timetables for all City Departments <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br /> reports regarding Goals, Work Programs, Timetables, and Reorganization of Field <br /> Services be approved as submitted: <br /> <br /> Reclassify all Maintenance Men I to Maintenance Men II at the same salary <br /> they now make. Anniversary dates would remain the same. There would be a <br /> minimal additional cost to the City this year of less than $1,000.00. How- <br /> ever, each Maintenance Man I would receive the opportunity for two addi- <br /> tional merit increases in future years which they do not now have~ <br /> <br /> Authorize the filling of 4 Leadman positions by promotional examination <br /> from the Maintenance Man position~ Cost for this would not exceed $2,500.00 <br /> depending on who was promoted. <br /> <br /> 3.Authorize hiring 3 additional Maintenance Men. A list has been established <br /> in order to hire the 4 men already authorized. <br /> <br />4~ Authorize the creation of the position of Laborer in the City and the hiring <br /> of 8 people to fill this position. <br /> <br /> and that Resolution No. 73-143, allocating approximately $78,000.00 of Maintenance <br /> Reserve, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Reid, and Mayor Pro Tem Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Herlihy and Mayor Pearson <br /> <br /> The Council commended the City staff on these excellent reports. <br /> <br />Furthe.r Reports Re: PropOsed Projects for Expenditure of Revenue Sharin~ Money <br /> This item was continued to the meeting of 9-12-73, for full Council considera- <br />tion. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid reminded the City Council of the time restraint regarding <br /> this matter, the final filing date being September 14, 1973. <br /> <br />~ep.Ort, Re: Lease of Pasture Land adjacent to Sewage Treatment Plant <br /> Mr. Walker presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that the <br />lease agreement between the City and Mr. Vic Lurid, St., for the 181 acres of pas- <br />ture land adjacent to the Sunol Boulevard Treatment Plant expires October 31, 1973, <br />and determination has been made that the lease would not be renewed, but would be <br />put to bid to allow other individuals the opportunity to lease the property, and <br />in order to have a new lease in effect by November 1, 1973, the lease should be <br />awarded by October 1, 1973, to allow the new leases time to make the necessary <br />arrangements to utilize the property. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, to <br />authorize the staff to proceed with placing the lease of 181 acres of pasture <br />land to bid. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Reid, and Mayor Pro TemMori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Herlihy and Mayor Pearson <br /> <br />Review of Plans and Specifications} Authorization to ~o to Bids Ray Street Re- <br />alignment <br /> Mr'. Sooby presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that because <br />of the urgency of the project, approval is requested immediately for the realignment <br />of Ray Street between the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks and First Street, so as <br />to be in alignment with Vineyard Avenue. <br /> <br /> 5. 8/27/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
