The purpose of this <br />amendment was to allow female employees of the Police Department to elect to be <br />included as safety members for retirement purposes under the City's PERS contract. <br />This amendment was made possible by Senate Bill 37 which was signed and Chaptered <br />as Chapter 91, Statutes 1973. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that <br />Ordinance No. 706, an ordinance to be read by Title only and waiving further read- <br />ing thereof authorizing a Contract Amendment between the Board of Administration <br />of the Public Employees Retirement System and the City Council of the City of <br />Pleasanton pertaining to the designation of female Police Department employees as <br />saiety members for retirement purposes, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />iRe_~ior_ttRe: Deductibilit7 o.f Utility CharEe~ Re: Tax Bills <br /> Mr~ Sche'idtg presented his report regarding this matter, stating that some time <br />ago Councilman Herlihy asked this office to research the question whether sewer and <br />water charges paid by the resident of Pleasanton were deductible from personal in- <br /> <br /> <br />
