MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Mori asked if there was an ordinance prohibiting the stacking of <br /> hay in the backyard of a residence. Mr. Edgar stated he would check into the matter <br /> and report back next week. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori asked what was being constructed behond the Shell Station on <br /> Hopyard. Mr. Edgar stated he would have a report on this matter next week. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy commended the Police Department on their Missions Statement <br /> in regard to the Budget, and requested such a program from each Department of the <br /> City. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested that the staff look into the possibility of ob- <br /> taining mikes for the City Council. <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Chris Beratlis, 362 Christina Court, representing his mother, requested <br /> that a letter be sent to the Board of Supervisors regarding a clarification of the <br /> City Council's position on a petition of Stella Beratlis to change the zoning on a <br /> 2.3 acre parcel of land located at 3830 through 3876 Santa Rita Road. <br /> <br /> Mr. Donald B. Rush, 3573 Dickens Court, addressed the Council regarding this <br /> rezoning application and the increased truck traffic it would create, and requested <br /> that the matter be continued for one week to allow residents in the area more time <br /> for further study. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jerry Do Murphy, 3594 Dickens Court, spoke regarding this matter stating <br /> that there would be a problem with increased truck traffic and noise as well as <br /> making the Fairlands School crossing more dangerous. He requested this matter be <br /> continued until everyone in the area had a chance to speak on the subject. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that the Police Department had evaluated the truck traffic on <br /> Santa Rita Road, which listed three basic problems: 1. Local deliveries, 2-3 trucks per day. <br /> 2. Truck stops at Santa Rita Inn, 6-7 per day. <br /> 3. Trucks from businesses which are land locked within the Kaiser Industrial <br /> area north of Stanley, 38 per day. <br /> <br /> The Councilmen then discussed the problem. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION - Pendin~ Liti~at.ion <br /> Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 10:17 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson reconvened the meeting at 10:40 P.M. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 10:41 P.M., it was moved by Councilman <br />Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that the meeting be adjourned to meet <br />again in Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on August 13, 1973. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> ~. 8 '/~/-73 <br />WILLIAM H.
