MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> July 2, 1973 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Robert Pearson called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson were present. Councilman Kinney <br />was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, <br />Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Councilman Reid requested that Item 4d, Approval of Proposed Agreement with <br />Auditor, be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered as Item 10b. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that the <br />following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved as amended: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 3une 25, 1973. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 699 (changes to Personnel Manual). <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Ordinance No. 700 (Animal Control Fees). <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOESi None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Kinney <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Report of Val. Vista. Ass0ciation~ Re: Park <br /> Mr. Ernie Stevenson, representing Val Vista Homeowners Association and Chairman <br />for the Parks Committee, stated the major concern of the residents of this area was <br />that the Park be developed for all ages to use and enjoy since they were in an <br />isolated area of the City. He further stated that the residents had raised $900.00 <br />to be used toward completion of the Park. On behalf of the Val Vista Homeowners, <br />Mro Stevenson urged the Council to allocate money to complete the Val Vista Park <br />and to give it a high priority. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated that the revenue sharing money was not surplus money, <br />but money to replace a void taken away at both the State and Federal levels and <br />that it must be spent where it will receive the most benefit. <br /> <br /> Mr. Stevenson was advised that the Council would be meeting with the Park and <br />Recreation Commission on July 16, 1973, regarding the question of parks and park <br />maintenance and Mr. Stevenson was invited to attend. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
