Negotiations <br />Mayor Pearson stated the City Council should address itself to the philosophy <br />on future course of action, and answer the policy question if agreement can be <br />reached between Pleasanton and V.C.S.D. regarding the financing of the Sunol Plant <br />phase-out, will the City proceed with the consolidation now under the present <br />management arrangement pending the establishment of the ultimate Valley-wide <br />agency~ Mayor Pearson indicated that the Council should not become sidetracked <br />on the amount of the figures to accomplish the final phase-out since they may <br />change with refinement. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori stated we need a revenue program for phasing out the Sunol <br />Plant as well as prepaid depreciation. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Mayor Pearson declared this item continued to the meeting <br />of December 17, 1973, at 7:30 P~M., for further study. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />~eport~ Re: Nomination of Officers for ABAG <br /> Mr. Edgar stated the City Council asked the staff to look into the status of <br />the nominations for the office of President and Vice President of ABAG. The <br />nominations were closed November 15, 1973. Those nominated for the two positions <br />are,: President - Warren Boggess and Joseph Bort; Vice President - R. D. Martin <br />and Lenard Grote. The ballots for the election are to be mailed to those eligible <br />to vote December 17, 1973. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, to support <br />Warren Boggess for President of ABAG. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Reid, to support <br />Lenard Grote for Vice President of ABAG. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />~epo.rt~ Re: Functi°n~ st.r~Ctur~ a~d Organization of Livermore's Air QualitX <br />Committee <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating the Council <br />asked the staff to look into the Air Pollution Study Committee of Livermore (SMOG <br />Committee). The Livermore City Council created the committee for the purpose of <br />obtaining information on air pollution problems from other governmental agencies <br />and working with these agencies to make recommendations for control of the Valley <br />air pollution problem. The specific functions and charges to the committe have <br />not been made as yet.
