1 <br /> <br /> Councilman Morl stated he would like to review the advantages and disadvantages <br /> of all the alternatives, and requested further information regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy stated he would support the concept of a transfer station. <br /> He urged the Contractor to submit I~is application and the cost analysis be studied <br /> while the application was being processed. <br /> <br />- Mayor Pearson spole in favor of the transfer seation concept, but stated that <br /> if additional information was need for Council review, then it would be advisable <br /> to study this matter in more detail. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, to support <br /> the Pleasanton Garbage Company application for a transfer station on Vineyard Avenue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Schwab stated that he would like to present additional information regarding <br /> this matter in order to gain full Council support of the application, and requested <br /> that this item be continued for two weeks in order to allow him to present the addi- <br /> tional information. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid widthdrew his motion, and Councilman Herlihy withdrew his second. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson declared this item continued to the meeting of November 19, 1973, <br /> for presentation of additional information~ <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Reports.. Re:. Status of the Construction of the_~icycle Saferx Barriers on Walkways <br /> throughout the City <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that two <br /> gates had been installed on Crestline Way on an experimental basis. He further <br />.... stated it appears this installation is working satisfactorily and fulfilling its <br /> purpose so the remainder of the gates will be installed immediately. <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Campbell reviewed the staff report regarding the E1 Rancho Motel improve- <br /> ments, stating that agreement with the property owners is near, and that the City <br /> street improvement project schedule contemplates construction of this area to com- <br /> mence in April 1974. He further added that the property owner's architect advises <br /> he is nearly completed with plans for architectural improvements to the existing <br /> facilities which he expects to submit to the Planning Commission for review within <br /> the next month or two. <br /> <br /> Based upon the work that has been done regarding the E1 Rancho Motel improve- <br /> ments and the plans to complete the work, the City Council directed the staff to <br /> proceed with negotiations for the completion of the Motel improvements as soon as <br /> possible, and only in the event these negotiations bog down or are in jeopardy <br /> will the zoning aceion be initiated that was authorized by the Council on October <br /> 29, 1973~ <br /> <br /> b{r. Edgar presented his report 'regarding financing negotiations between Valley <br /> Community Services District and Pleasanton.
