COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Letter ~om PisssaC[on Youth inc.,, Re: Pe::mchase of Buildin~ <br /> Mr~ Edgar presented a letter from Pleasanton Youth Inc~, regarding purchase of <br /> the old Library building on Bernal Avenue for a Youth Center, and placing it at <br /> the Aquatic Park adjacent to the new Libra=yo <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid~ and seconded by Councilman Mori, to refer the <br /> Pleasanton Youth Inc~, letter to the Park and Recreation Commission for review and <br /> recommendation~ and authorizing the appropriate City officials to put a hold on the <br /> Building w~th Alsmeda County. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen He~l~hy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilman Mori reported on a meeting of the Valley Water interest Committee <br /> on October 25, 1973~ at which time further modifications ~o the Agreement were <br /> considered~ <br /> <br />~_ Councilman He~lihy reported on a SACEOA meeting on October 24, 1973, ~egarding <br />,-- finances~ <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori ~eported on the Annual League of California Cities Conference <br /> in San Francisco held October 21-24, 1~73o <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Mayor Pearson, compl~menting <br /> the Board of Directors of the League of California Cities for their courageous <br /> stand in opposing Proposition 1o <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilman Mori and May'or Pearson <br /> NOES: Councilman Kinney <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAINED:Councilmen Herlihy and Reid <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEI~BERS <br /> Councilman Reid stated that sometime back the City had waived the Conditional <br /> Use Permit for the E1 Rancho Motel. At that time the Motel expressed intent'ions <br /> to make public improvements° To date, Santa Rita Road improvements have been <br /> completed except for the area of the Motel° <br /> <br /> It was mo~ed by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Mayor Pearson, that Resolution <br /> No~ 73-168, ini~iating a rezoning study on the E1 Rancho Motel, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilm~n Herlihy, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: Councilmen Kinney and Mori <br /> ABSENT: No~e <br /> <br /> Councilman Heriihy stated he voted Yes in order to resolve the Santa Rite Road <br /> problem. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori expressed concern about the type of movies recently being <br /> shown at the Amadcr Theater. He requested that the matter be investigated and <br /> contreaIled~= The City Attorney was instructed to look into this matter° <br /> <br /> Co~r~al~n Mori requested a progress report on the Bicycle Safety Barriers <br /> on walkways ~h~cughout the City° <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori requested a report on the East Bay Regional Park District <br /> consideration of a motorcycle park facility west of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting to an Executive Session at 11:40 P~M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearlson reconvened the meeting at 11:59 P.M. <br /> <br /> 7. 10/29/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
