He furtherTM sta~ed i~ is act the intent of the City to make money on this <br />program but i~ is for the betterment c~ ~he community and animal, and is a good <br />step forward-~ <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori sta~ed he ~lt the cat. itzensing program will encourage a <br />sense of responsibility ~n cat owners and is ~n favor of the ordinance~ <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid sta~ed he was opposed ~o the cat licensing program because <br />of the ineffectiveness of enforcement and the fact that revenues will not off- <br />set the cost, and felt an educational program was more necessary° <br /> <br /> CouncilmanHerlihy stated the real problem is how te implement the program <br />and unless the ordinance could be effectively and uniformly enforced he was <br />opposed to it~ <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that <br />the matter of Cat Licensing b~ ~abled~ <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, and Reid <br />NOES: Councilman Kinney and Mayor Pearson <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting at 9:45 <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson rec~nvened the meeting at 9:55 P.M. <br /> <br />Extension of S (St~ Districr foe an additional eight (8) months for Zonin~ Units <br />133 and 134~ known as Mission Park and .Qualified Investors <br /> Mayor Pearson declared the public hearing open,, <br /> <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his repo:~ regarding this matter, sta~ing that on July 11, <br />1973, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 698, an intecim ordinance amending by <br />Zoning Unit Maps 133 and 134 the zoning maps of the City of Pleasanton and rezoning <br />certain properties within the City of Pleasanton from RM-1500, RM-2500 and RM-4000 <br />(Multi-Family Districts), Ri-6500 (Single Family District)and A (Agricultural Dis- <br />trict) to S (Study District) and amending the Ordinance Code of the City of Plea- <br />santon accordingly (Mission Park and Qualified Investment areas). This office <br />indicated to the Council a[ that time ~hat, pursuan~ to Section 65858 of the <br />Government Code, any f~rther extensi.Dns of this "S" (Study District) zoning <br />would require a public hearing. The presen~ ordinance will expire on November 2, <br />1973, and it rnaj~ be extended fo~: an additic~na! eight (8) months after City Council <br />has held its public hearing.
