Mr. Harris <br />stated that the staff hopes to propose a zoning code amendment regulating <br />conversion of apartments to condominiums. <br /> <br />Report, Re: Action Taken by Planning Commission at their April 10, 1974 <br /> <br /> Mr. Harris presented copies of letters to applicants informing them <br />of the decisions of the Boards and Planning Commission. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report, Re: Award of Contract for Bernal Avenue Improvemen.ts <br /> Mr. Sooby presented this report and reviewed the results of the <br />bids received. The base bid for non-decorative sidewalk was $18,834.00. <br />the base bid for exposed aggregate sidewalk was $20,237.91, and the <br />base bid for Bomanite (four feet wide strip of brick-like material <br />centered in standard sidewalk) was $23,244.00, based on 6,000 linear <br />feet. There was discussion regarding the property owners' share of <br />the sidewalk. Valley Bank has agreed to install the Bomanite and <br />an agreement has been worked out with Edgren that they pay a fixed sum <br />and for dedication of necessary right of way. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and <br />seconded by Council Philcox, adopting Resolution No. 74-83, approving <br />the award of contract for Bomanite decorative sidewalk on the Bernal <br />.Avenue Project to Les McDonald Construction Company of Hayward for <br />their bid of $23,244.00. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilman Herlihy, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, <br /> and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: Councilman Kinney <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney stated that he did not feel decorative sidewalk <br />would be practical and would result in irregular patterns of sidewalk. <br /> <br />_Report, Re: Award of Contract for Sewer Franchise <br /> Mr. Miller reviewed this report. Staff recommends the award <br />of contract be made to Pleasanton Garbage Service for a term of five <br />years.
