Mr. Harris stated that the staff hopes to propose a zoning code amendment regulating conversion of apartments to condominiums. Report, Re: Action Taken by Planning Commission at their April 10, 1974 Mr. Harris presented copies of letters to applicants informing them of the decisions of the Boards and Planning Commission. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER Report, Re: Award of Contract for Bernal Avenue Improvemen.ts Mr. Sooby presented this report and reviewed the results of the bids received. The base bid for non-decorative sidewalk was $18,834.00. the base bid for exposed aggregate sidewalk was $20,237.91, and the base bid for Bomanite (four feet wide strip of brick-like material centered in standard sidewalk) was $23,244.00, based on 6,000 linear feet. There was discussion regarding the property owners' share of the sidewalk. Valley Bank has agreed to install the Bomanite and an agreement has been worked out with Edgren that they pay a fixed sum and for dedication of necessary right of way. After further discussion, it was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Council Philcox, adopting Resolution No. 74-83, approving the award of contract for Bomanite decorative sidewalk on the Bernal .Avenue Project to Les McDonald Construction Company of Hayward for their bid of $23,244.00. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilman Herlihy, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori NOES: Councilman Kinney ABSENT: None Councilman Kinney stated that he did not feel decorative sidewalk would be practical and would result in irregular patterns of sidewalk. _Report, Re: Award of Contract for Sewer Franchise Mr. Miller reviewed this report. Staff recommends the award of contract be made to Pleasanton Garbage Service for a term of five years.
