2.9 / MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL April 8, 1974 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGETO'THE'FLAG Mayor Floyd Mori called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Philcox, and Mayor Mori, were present. Councilwoman LeClaire was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidtg, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant CityManager/Director of Public Works, Mr. Bowling, Director of Housing and Community Development, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Edgar requested that Item 9b - Approval of plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids on Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Park, Pahse 1, be heard after the Consent Calendar. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for April 1, 1974. b. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-49, approving Claims for the month of March, 1974, in the amount of $354,757.43. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Philcox, and Mayor Mori NOES: None ABSENT: Councilwoman LeClaire REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER Approval of plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids on Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Parks Phase l Mr. Bowling presented background information on the Youth Sports Park. Mr. Sooby presented plans and specifications for development of Phase 1 of this Park that were prepared by the consultant, Lampman and Associates. Mr. Bill Yokum, of Lampman and Associates, elaborated on the plans regarding this matter. It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, to approve plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids on Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Park, Phase 1. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlthy, Kinney, Philcox, and Mayor Mori NOES: None ABSENT: Councilwoman LeClaire PUBLIC HEARINGS Consideration of Preliminary BudSet for 1974-75 Mr. Edgar stated this matter had been reviewed in detail at a previous study session. Mr. Walker presented a summary of the Capital Improvement Program by project and fund. Mayor Mori declared the public hearing open.
