2.9 / <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> April 8, 1974 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGETO'THE'FLAG <br /> Mayor Floyd Mori called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Philcox, and Mayor Mori, were present. Councilwoman <br />LeClaire was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidtg, City Attorney, Mr. <br />Campbell, Assistant CityManager/Director of Public Works, Mr. Bowling, Director <br />of Housing and Community Development, Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, <br />and Mr. Walker, Assistant to the City Manager, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested that Item 9b - Approval of plans and specifications and <br />authorization to advertise for bids on Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Park, <br />Pahse 1, be heard after the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for April 1, 1974. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-49, approving Claims for the month of March, <br /> 1974, in the amount of $354,757.43. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Philcox, and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilwoman LeClaire <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Approval of plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids <br /> on Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Parks Phase l <br /> Mr. Bowling presented background information on the Youth Sports Park. Mr. <br /> Sooby presented plans and specifications for development of Phase 1 of this Park <br /> that were prepared by the consultant, Lampman and Associates. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Yokum, of Lampman and Associates, elaborated on the plans regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, to <br />approve plans and specifications and authorization to advertise for bids on <br />Pleasanton Sports and Recreation Park, Phase 1. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlthy, Kinney, Philcox, and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilwoman LeClaire <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Consideration of Preliminary BudSet for 1974-75 <br /> Mr. Edgar stated this matter had been reviewed in detail at a previous study <br /> session. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker presented a summary of the Capital Improvement Program by project <br />and fund. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> <br />
