MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL February 4, 1974 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Pro Tem William Herlihy called the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag~ ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Reid were present. Mayor Pearson was absent. Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works, and Mr. Sooby, Director of Engineering Services, were present. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved| f-) a. Approval of City Council Minutes for January 28, 1974. b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 720, adding Article 3 to Chapter 9 (Water), Title II (Zoning and Development) of the Ordinance Code of the City of PleaSanton relating to Well Standards. c. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-18, for approval of Easement Agreement with Southern Pacific, Re: Water Line for Kie-Con in Kaiser Industriel Park. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-19, approving final Progress Payment in the amount of $3,780.00, to Maxdon Construction Co., for work completed on Walnut Grove Park, and authorization to file Notice of CompletiOn. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pro Tem Herlihy NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Pearson MARCH OF DIMES PRESENTATION Mr. Chris Beratlis, Pleasanton Community Chairman of the March of Dimes, stated that on Saturday, March 16, 1974, the Alameda County March of Dimes is having its second Walk-A-Thon in the Pleasanton-Dublin-Livermore area. He requested the Pleasanton City Council to participate in this event, and also to proclaim March 16, 1974, as March-of-Dimes Week in Pleasanton. It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, to proclaim March 16, 1974, as Alameda County March of Dimes Week in Pleasanton. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pro Tem Merlihy NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Pearson PUBLIC HEARINGS Application of the .City Council to de-energize street lights in Valley Trails~ Val yista~ and Hop~ard Road Area This item was continued to the meeting of February 11, 1974, for full Council attendance. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION There were no matters continued for decision scheduled for this meeting. SPECIAL REPORTS There were no Special Reports scheduled for presentation at this meeting.
